A good idea is to play defensive while you learn your enemies movesef and play style. To get better, watch skilled youtuber fight in their videos, after observing them, try to apply it in actual combat against an enemy. Once you are good at fighting average players, hunt down skilled players that have their joins on like lancelot, cloud, and chapter members. I suggest starting off with chapter as they are the weakest of the three.
I just parry m1s block fients and roll mantras and if I predict the fient I parry it same with the mantras, you can also cancel a mantra feint if you’re close enough I do it a lot and that’s mainly why I get accused of aps on my silent heart bc it auto parries vents sometimes but it’s really just predicting your opponent, but you really pick up on these things after fighting a good player for over 10 mins most matches in chime go to final death if you’re fighting a good player bc y’all know what you’re reading
tip: if your opponent spams feint after every parry just keep swinging after they parry you (u gotta click really fast) and unless they have a fast swing speed weapon u can usually throw them off and counter them easily

when you guard break an enemy, quickly roll cancel to their back and proc spine cutter

a way to counter mantra feints spams is to just hit them while they are feinting once you get used to their rhythm
