There's this movie "Same time, next year" about a man and woman who meet up the same weekend every year for 30 years. They're very close emotionally, spiritually, sexually, ect. It makes me wish I had something like that (guy friend who would be my best friend/lover for one weekend) while enjoying being single for the rest of the year.

ISTP is totally accurate even though it's only part of the truth, at least for me. On the one hand I would love to have a partner and am actually drawn to certain feeling types but on the other hand whenever I spend a little more thought on it I remember that I already don't really have enough time to do all the things I want to do.
As a taken INFP, a couple months before I was in this relationship, I gave up on finding someone because I knew that no one would meet my expectations... Then I met my current partner (who is also an INFP), and somehow we meet each other's expectations. We've been together for 2 years, and one of those years has been long distance because of quarantine. It helps that we both want a fairy tale and will communicate to ensure we get that.

Yep, this life starts alone and it ends alone. In the end, everyone is going to be on their own (and only religions could truly mitigate that solitude, not other human beings). So in other words, we'll just have to learn to live with ourselves and by ourselves, to learn to appreciate our own company 😇 because we're always going to be stuck with ourselves anyway. Ultimately, it's futile to try to run away from yourself and get so desperately attached to others, because those attachments can't possibly last forever, and in the end, you'd be back where you started from (i.e. fearing your own company in solitude) 🙆
Yes, I can confirm ENFP is accurate. We like to tell ourselves we don’t want to be in a relationship when we’re single, but our romantic side awakens as soon as someone else shows interest.
I'm an INFJ and I can relate, it's almost like I can't allow myself to develop feelings for someone because I know it'll make me unstable, unless the other person reciprocates these feelings.
I always present myself not as who I am but with bits and pieces of who I really am and who I am not. Cannot let anyone know me 100%, that is insane, no one should be that vulnerable intentionally, no one. I also pretend to be a bit dumb, like Columbo does, it gives me an advantage because everyone lets their guard down and I can clearly see who they are, as well as their vulnerabilities. Like, they are putting themselves on a plate: "hey, this is me and these are my insecurities and how to destroy me, but for some absurd reason I trust the other person won't use any of this against me" 🤦🏻♀️ Like, why would you do that? Most people blackmail or ruin that person's life knowing his/her vulnerabilities. It is a fact! I see it everyday, cant deny its existence, cant!

@@ErezElene Yeah me too (INTJ here). I've never had a girlfriend, never went on a date, never pursued anything romantic or sexual with anyone. But that's because I never found anyone interesting enough or someone with a similar ethical/moral value system as mine. I could already predict that most girls who were interested in me wanted to pursue something shallow and I do not like such meaningless drama and investing my emotions into something which has no future. But that doesn't mean I don't do 'soul searching'. I constantly evaluate myself and everyone around me and when I do find something wrong with myself (which happens very rarely), I work on correcting it. I am perfectly fine being single till I find someone compatible with my values. I'm only 21 so there is a lot of time left :)
INFP here! My last relationship ended due to my internal world. Well... that wasn't how things went for him. I was really interested for the first couple weeks, and then I realized that he'd never be able to be a part of my internal world the way my first partner was (I was with her for 8 years) and I also realized that I wasn't all that emotionally invested and I didn't want to string him along. I was physically invested because I'm touch-starved and he provided frequent affection, but I didn't want to be in a relationship with him just for that. So when he asked for a break, I jumped at the chance and we've been just friends since.
As an INFP/J: I’m mentally married to a figment of my imagination and still am trying to decide if dying alone or risking vulnerability is the better choice.

I have the INFJ and INFP perspectives together: To be in a relationship knowing that the other could scar you for life anytime; or, to be in a relationship with an imaginary and ideal (possibly magical) soulmate ... (but one day you will dream that she will hate you and you end up killing yourself and then breaking her heart into heart powder of regret).
Sometimes, I think even if my fictional crush was real, they wouldn't spare me a single glance. But then I use that as motivation to become good enough. There's something very unhealthy about that though🤷♀️
I don't stay unattached for all that long even though I'm INTP but I find it stupid when men are like "stop being picky or you'll end up alone." And? It's not like the sky falls when I'm alone.

@@armyofone5219 well for myself...let me just start: I'm quite unsure whether I'm infj or not. Because I relate to it mostly but definitely makes u wish to be something else... overthinking is daily basis. I only was in only one relatively short relationship so far. I'm pretty sure that person is ENTJ and...well it felt wrong. Because at the same time where you're convinced and already giving it your all you always doubt the true connection. Even after reassurance (obviously communication is key and hypocrisy as well since I'm aware of all that but also...ye I don't think I have to explain it). A person who needs to talk with you how the weather is or shit is annoying. Personally asking how the day is or how you feel is a thing that I greatly like to get deep into...however I realized that my partner did not and it was more of a routine thing. Because sorting out every single aspect that effects your feelings thus talking about people or stuff you enjoy or not is really interesting for me. (I don't like to speak on behalf of all Infjs cause I do not want to feel stereotypic besides that I maybe am). It gets magical when you have at least something in common I would say. An interest. Because another example: In highschool there is this one girl I used to be interested in and she wanted to sit on the same bench as I did. (100% sure it was because we understood well but nothing more). She put the pressure on me with things like: let's talk, I'm bored etc. While I like to just sit there and kind of...exist. I do not need to speak the whole time. Just enjoying one another existence is one of the most beautiful things to me. Obviously deep conversations are great but...when I tried it with my ex it was always one sided. I talked for hours and explained my theories and logics behind human behaviour and it's mind and she was like: okay thank you but I have nothing to contribute except: I guess I agree...ye okay cool that completely explains to me how you perceive the world and even if it does I want to hear it from you and not imagine it myself. Now to the Infj with Infj... I can only talk from the side of Infj with Infp as a best friend. The person I had the deepest conversations with and every disagreement ended on an agreement on the subject or "agree on disagree.". Since we both respect each others stupidity. The best thing for both of us: we don't need to talk. We can sit for hours in a Voice call or together and just enjoy our own stuff while being happy to know, that the other person is there and even if one speaks up to another U won't get annoyed. Never. (Except it's on purpose ofc haha). Sry if this was completely something else from what you wanted to hear but if you want I can be more direct if you're precise about something )

So in other words, we'll just have to learn to live with ourselves and by ourselves, to learn to appreciate our own company 😇 because we're always going to be stuck with ourselves anyway.
Ultimately, it's futile to try to run away from yourself and get so desperately attached to others, because those attachments can't possibly last forever, and in the end, you'd be back where you started from (i.e. fearing your own company in solitude) 🙆

I always present myself not as who I am but with bits and pieces of who I really am and who I am not. Cannot let anyone know me 100%, that is insane, no one should be that vulnerable intentionally, no one.

@@ErezElene Yeah me too (INTJ here). I've never had a girlfriend, never went on a date, never pursued anything romantic or sexual with anyone. But that's because I never found anyone interesting enough or someone with a similar ethical/moral value system as mine. I could already predict that most girls who were interested in me wanted to pursue something shallow and I do not like such meaningless drama and investing my emotions into something which has no future. But that doesn't mean I don't do 'soul searching'. I constantly evaluate myself and everyone around me and when I do find something wrong with myself (which happens very rarely), I work on correcting it. I am perfectly fine being single till I find someone compatible with my values. I'm only 21 so there is a lot of time left :)

INFP here! My last relationship ended due to my internal world. Well... that wasn't how things went for him. I was really interested for the first couple weeks, and then I realized that he'd never be able to be a part of my internal world the way my first partner was (I was with her for 8 years) and I also realized that I wasn't all that emotionally invested and I didn't want to string him along. I was physically invested because I'm touch-starved and he provided frequent affection, but I didn't want to be in a relationship with him just for that. So when he asked for a break, I jumped at the chance and we've been just friends since.
As an INFP/J: I’m mentally married to a figment of my imagination and still am trying to decide if dying alone or risking vulnerability is the better choice.

I have the INFJ and INFP perspectives together: To be in a relationship knowing that the other could scar you for life anytime; or, to be in a relationship with an imaginary and ideal (possibly magical) soulmate ... (but one day you will dream that she will hate you and you end up killing yourself and then breaking her heart into heart powder of regret).

@@armyofone5219 well for myself...let me just start: I'm quite unsure whether I'm infj or not. Because I relate to it mostly but definitely makes u wish to be something else... overthinking is daily basis. I only was in only one relatively short relationship so far. I'm pretty sure that person is ENTJ and...well it felt wrong. Because at the same time where you're convinced and already giving it your all you always doubt the true connection. Even after reassurance (obviously communication is key and hypocrisy as well since I'm aware of all that but also...ye I don't think I have to explain it). A person who needs to talk with you how the weather is or shit is annoying. Personally asking how the day is or how you feel is a thing that I greatly like to get deep into...however I realized that my partner did not and it was more of a routine thing. Because sorting out every single aspect that effects your feelings thus talking about people or stuff you enjoy or not is really interesting for me. (I don't like to speak on behalf of all Infjs cause I do not want to feel stereotypic besides that I maybe am). It gets magical when you have at least something in common I would say. An interest. Because another example: In highschool there is this one girl I used to be interested in and she wanted to sit on the same bench as I did. (100% sure it was because we understood well but nothing more). She put the pressure on me with things like: let's talk, I'm bored etc. While I like to just sit there and kind of...exist. I do not need to speak the whole time. Just enjoying one another existence is one of the most beautiful things to me. Obviously deep conversations are great but...when I tried it with my ex it was always one sided. I talked for hours and explained my theories and logics behind human behaviour and it's mind and she was like: okay thank you but I have nothing to contribute except: I guess I agree...ye okay cool that completely explains to me how you perceive the world and even if it does I want to hear it from you and not imagine it myself. Now to the Infj with Infj... I can only talk from the side of Infj with Infp as a best friend. The person I had the deepest conversations with and every disagreement ended on an agreement on the subject or "agree on disagree.". Since we both respect each others stupidity. The best thing for both of us: we don't need to talk. We can sit for hours in a Voice call or together and just enjoy our own stuff while being happy to know, that the other person is there and even if one speaks up to another U won't get annoyed. Never. (Except it's on purpose ofc haha).
