Not even kidding. I was in Barcelona I think in 2017. And I think I met him then. We met this Persian man playing santoor in a park in Barcelona and we spoke to him in Farsi. Mabye it was him. I mean how many Persian Santoor street artists can there be in Barcelona?
Omid Tahmasebpur! From the city of Amoll in the province of Mazantaurant in North Iran. His father is one of the best singers in Amoll and his mother plays setar. He started to play santur at the age of eight.
Persian santour is very difficult! But so beautiful. I have one, and am learning. Not an easy instrument, especially coming from a background in playing wind instruments.
it is very typical to tune santoor its not easy....this talented man has an ability to tune it..hats off to his talent may how perfectly he is playing santoor its not easy to play...👏👏👏😊😊😊👌🖒😊
He must have been played with Kamkars at some points. Feel the same touch. And they are great like him. Bravo brother, you are outstanding, high caliber musician.
How sad to see such an amazing artist performing his beauty of art on the street while useless minds are sitting on top of the roof and enjoy...bless you sir🙏
although the santoor is played in both countries this one is Iranian version(indian one is more rectangular in shape) and also the music is played in iranian ragas...
aziz jan adami ke kambood dare chejoori mikhai kamboodesho neshoon bede ,ba fosh dadan be digaran.narahat nasho tarbiate ina chon gerdakan bar gonbade.
Why do people, who have no sense of music / melody intellect have to talk rubbish just to pump their ego? The Santur originated in the Royal Courts of the Persian Empire and then moved down to the Ottomans who took it with them to some parts of Europe and during the same time when Persians came as invaders, traders and artisans to Asia (India etc.,) they got the instrument with them and has thus remained a part of India's culture ever since. Please stop spreading false information!!
And what happened to the santoor culture of the lands from where it has been originated as u said nYxkYx. U googled some data sheet which is purely meaningless. Can u name some of famous santoor players of any part of the world other than India. It is the Indian musicians who have made much change to the original Persian version. That is the case with other Persian instruments like Sarod or Sarangi, Sitar too. The Indian versions are much ahead of the original prototypes. All credits goes to the Indian culture patronizing music and the Muslim rulers, religion, culture has almost spoiled the music culture from the Arabian and Middle East which had been there for the last thousand years. Frusted Orthodox Muslims should have realized that music has no religion and cherished it, instead they declared it haram as said in Koran which is utterly nonsense.
Your comment is quite patronzing, if u were intelligent u would ask yourself why so many people complemented this... Read the description, he starts playing at 2:00...
Please, could you give us again the link? Because in your comment above it is not complete. I'd really like to find out the name of this santur player.
Hello dear musician friend, what's the tuning range of this santur? it's not hicaz indeed. can you send me a message about this, thank you and you play like a legendary classical musician : )
Well in this case we can’t say incredible he is just a simple student and plays santor....well done......but if U want see incredible santor player I think U should search for ( parvez mshkatian/santor ) then U see incredible santor player ...........
Come on man, you do realize almost all of your ancient arts and language comes from Parsia (Persians/Aryans). It's ok though, most undereducated people will believe you and there is a lot of them.
there was no aryan invasion in India sir, That was a hoax by some europen historians (Max Muller etc. and it has been genetically disproved). and as far santoor is concerned, you can always check facts on the Internet.
Half knowledge is dangerous. One must not confuse the Indian santoor with the Persian santur. The Indian santoor is box-like while the Persian version is much wider.
santoor is Iraqi Babylonian/Assyrian instruments its also one of the main instruments in the Iraqi maqam NOT IRANIAN NOR INDIAN , if they use it in iran or india it doesn't make it Iranian or indian

Such a noble soul and the music by which it expresses itself does not belong on a cold hard pavement.

@@uudeepaki recommend you to hear the santoor playings of Iranian master Ardavan Kamkar its much appealing than this street talent
it reminds me of a Piano and it is because he seems to be hitting the strings. a piano is a percussion and string instrument. so seems this one..
