- On this episode of Raising Your IT IQ, James shows you how to download, install, and use the Respondus Lockdown Browser on your PC, Mac, and iPad. NOTE your professor will need to enable the use of the iPad on your exams. If your exams are done through Pearson MyLab, this will not work on iPad.

Thank you for posting this video tutorial because for the life of me I have done all those steps on my PC and every time I attempt to start my quiz through the Lockdown browser after sign-in my PBSC Credential it closes the window in the middle of the Quiz stating "Virtual Machine" detected I don't have any of that running on my PC. I even went as far as deleting the McFee security software. Can you help?
Hi Olive. Are you using a laptop or a desktop? If you're on a laptop, you could bring it in and maybe we can look to see what's causing it to do that. You could try calling the PBSC IT Service desk at 561.868.4000 and see if they know what might be causing that. You could also try Respondus Tech Support on this page: support.respondus.com/hc/en-us
I've only seen this issue 3 times and I haven't been able to figure out why it happens.
After doing this it says I need to download proctorio from Google chrome but this is literally impossible it seems, any suggestions?
I use a Mac and no matter what I've done I keep getting the same error message. Reading: Error: Unable to continue - the browser failed to retrieve user information from the server (PENDING), I have the turned off sharing as showed in video, tried different connection networks, force quit all applications, deleted and redowloaded, updated computer, but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?
What version of macOS are you running? Also, make sure the log in info you're putting in is correct. What I like to do is open Notes and type my password so I can see it and make sure I'm typing it correctly.

Being a yr 7 in high school and had no help with doing this it’s not going to be done unless my dad finally helps I have no clue what to do and I’m literally crying. 😭

Lockdown Browser is only compatible with Windows 10 and up.
