If it doesn't ask me to to start or use the camera in any wa and the camera light is off throughout the exam, does that mean my professor is not requiring it and the the browser is not recording me?
As one goes through the setup phases of Respondus or Honorlock, the camera will take your photo, a picture of your photo ID and will ask for a room scan. It is very apparent when one is being filmed.
Can i tilt the camera upwards a bit? my face will be showing but i don't want it to capture my hands writing my equations and stuff. Is it possible to do that? you know why i'm asking
It is easier than picking up a laptop and moving it around. It was also suggested by the Respondus people themselves. They showed using a mirror to survey the student testing area on a free webinar.
If the web camera is detachable it is easy to survey the area. Just don't get tempted to move the camera once the test has started....that might earn a "0" on the test, particularly if the student face is not visible.
