Yes it's not like Xbox one plan. But what I'd like them to do is get what they have now working right. We still don't have stable frames stable res complete games or no day one patch . Think they would fix that stuff before trying something totally new

83 baby. Colt absolutely right. I’ve seen so much change over the years it’s incredible.
The problem is... if everything goes to the cloud they can shut severs down anytime they want and the consumer looses in that regard. I think we need to have cloud but also local play like we currently have. Basically keep things very similar to what we have now moving forward.

Exactly.....Phil Spencer didn't have a crystal ball showing that he was going to buy Activision Blizzard and the legal hell he had to go through to get a 3rd party studio. Considerig Phil Spencer admitted that Nintendo and Xbox compete that would be violating anti-trust laws which would get Microsoft in more trouble than buying Activision Blizzard. Now that Microsoft has Zenimax and Activision Blizzard....Do they really need Nintendo, Sony, Valve or Sega? The perspective that people are looking at that "relationship" (more like relationshit) between Nintendo and Microsoft a different way that there might be some secret malicious intent.

I think you're being overly dismissive of people's concerns by using a straw-man argument, nobody is saying that we live in a world where Nintendo is sacred and should never be touched... of course that it could happen. However, the content of the e-mail are worrisome, I'll translate the corporate jargon for you:
- They're sitting on a pile of cash = they haven't over-explored their IPs to death
- Their board isn't pushing for better stock performance = they don't have to add egregious monetization methods to keep investors happy, which leads to:
- Hostile action is not recommended = since their shareholders aren't pushing for better performance we can't throw money at them and hope they flip to our side.
Look... Microsoft is a good company that makes great products, I use many of them. I just don't want a Legend of Zelda every year with 3 different versions, early access, premium battle-pass and other micro-transaction bullshit that MS would for sure implement, ok? Look at what they've done with Halo, can you imagine if they had their hands on Zelda, Pokemon and Mario? GTFO here with this and don't ruin pretty much every gamer's childhood please.
My problem with, all digital is that it always full price most of the time, unlike going to a store they more likely be cheaper because they need to compete with other retailers to get you to buy there.
With Xbox store and PlayStation store there not it's full price or your not playing day one.
I mean, not really? Digital games go on sale pretty frequently (just got RE2+RE3 remakes for $15 combined), and I'm pretty sure you're not gonna get a physical copy of a game for less than full price on release day.
Plus, with subscription services included, you do save more money.
That being said, there are some instances in which you have to wait for a sale to get a game for cheap whereas you may be able to get a physical disc for cheaper. Good example of this is Cyberpunk 2077, which can be bought for like $20 on eBay but typically occasionally goes for sale for $30. But this really only applies to super popular recent games like Cyberpunk and Elden Ring.

With the Nintendo thing, I don’t see as that much of a problem because Nintendo and Microsoft have been working together since 2019 with Nintendo offering Game Pass on their platform so they haven’t been competing with each other for a few years, and with the Switch being so radically different for Sony and Microsoft entery they’re not really competing on the hardware side either

20:06 keep in mind that a lot depends on what Sony sells the pro for, and what it actually delivers. If it's 800 or whatever, the install base will remain small. Hard to know until we have a better idea what the price and performance of the pro are. No reason to panic yet in other words.

Sure, what you guys are saying is true, about not neccesarily having to play on console, having the option to play on a powerful PC for best performance if that's what you care for and so on, but that only applies to 1st party games (or games that might or might not come to gamepass). What if you are an xbox player, if you want to keep everything on one account, get achievements but you are not satisfied with the experience the series x gives you on newest games? Well, tough luck, you are stuck with it for the next 5 years whereas the competition will offer a better option. That sucks.
I build myself a nice high end PC, at first i was only going to have it for gamepass games but seeing stuff like what the next Alan Wake is doing with dlls 3.5 pathtracing or how amazing Cyberpunk 2077 looks with update 2.0 (still haven't played it) i made the decision to quit xbox completely, the console i mean. I don't want to miss out on the latest and greatest anymore. Screw achievements...

How do u have backwards compatibility and game preservation with no physical games and consoles. Like when Xbox live went down and no one could play there games even own games. It's not like PC where it's diff stores and competition with diff stores it's only the Xbox store. When I don't think people realize. If Xbox says games 100 bucks what can we do if no other way to get the game.
My Internet went down a few days ago and I was still able to play the digital copies of my Xbox games offline.

All the games u paid money for u couldn't play . Or like when Diablo 4 servers was messed up..there was no offline mode so u couldn't play the game or when gt7 servers was down couldn't play the game. The downside to digital is we don't control anything. It's all on the company and eventho we pay 70 80 100 bucks for a game. They have control over it. That's what I don't like about digital. And if everything is that way. Us gamers will be in trouble. Games aren't like movies and music and console isn't like PC where the games live on . When the 360 store shuts down next year that's it for their games. 10 more years the Xbox store will be 20 years old. What if they shut that down what happens to the games. We saw when stadia failed that was it for the games Google gave the money back which is cool but what if they didn't it's a huge L lol. People letting the convenience of digital making them forget. U paying money for something that's not yours

I think the guys in this panel are confused. Sure, a few fanboy extremists want Xbox to fail. But the majority of us including me, are actually rooting for Game Pass to fail. It's pushing a subscription digital only format, and which leaks show will only end in streaming. Worse of all it's changing the gaming landscape for the worse, and forcing other platforms to follow suit. You can't simply tell gamers to let Xbox cook, when it's AFFECTING THE INDUSTRY... 🤦🏽♂️
