The Most Beautiful LOVE SONG ever written (& played). This man was pure SCOTtish SOUL! Yes, he & Robin Trower Soul Brothers. Went to their concert Memphis '77; incredible. (Dewar is from Perthshire, also the clans of MacGregor (Rob Roy is buried there & MacLaren clan (of the world leading (auto) racing team (also my name as well). Long live SCOTLAND & the SOUTH (where I live)! All praise & glory to our Saviour and LORD JESUS CHRIST! (John 3.3, 33-34)--
I really miss Jimmy Dewar but was very lucky to see him live with Robin Trower who I’ve followed since 1968. So sad this beautiful Scot’s singer and lovely human being passed away far too young 😢.
We saw the RTB do this at Winterland in middle of the set. Show was louder than loud, they brought us right down to earth with this. When the song faded out there was 3 or 4 seconds of dead silence…and then the crowd erupted. I still get goosebumps from the experience.
James always struck a chord with me almost 50 years ago,and now. In my own musical world,he is certainly in the top 5 vocalist in my life time,he covers a wide range, this particular song... Bluebird is absolutely beautiful to me,I and all of us miss you James....you are the 1 sir,God Bless you Sir!!!
A very unique soft and elegant voice that complimented the music so well! God has a place for him for sure in his All Time Heavens Orchestra 🙏 RIP And thank you for all your hard work to bring so much joy to others ❤
Saw Robin Trower with Jimmy Dewer and I think Reg Isidore was on drums in Henry’s Blues House in central Birmingham U.K. I’ve followed Robin for so many gigs I can’t count them all. Jimmy was very sadly robbed of Jim’s life - I still don’t know what caused it. But I lost my Dad aged 44, nowhere near retiring. Best line up is the above though I’ve never complained about Robin’s gigs. Mostly seen them in Bham, London, St Ives in Cornwall where I’d lived for 1 summer but tend to return there as often as I can, and London at 2 great venues a few times. This song is so very beautiful, RIP Jimmy and fingers are crossed for Robin’s sudden bout of very worrying illness. We are all getting older together….
one of my favorites but then it is hard to have a favorite once you start listening to another Trower song with Dewar singing. Fantastic voice and by these tributes seemed to be a wonderful man also. I had not known he died so young and his wife was soon to follow. I suppose the other to be a son. Let it be known to all, our days are numbered.
One of my Personal faves, and one of the Sweetest Ballads......EVER. He's UP THERE with the GREATS, and I Dare say at the TOP of Many 'Best Male Vocalists' of ALL TIME- Esp. in the ROCK category, but you really can't DEFINE or 'fence in' a Talent the likes of HIS.......... On MY list of 2 or 3, he probably IS My 'ALL-TIME FAVE', I'm pretty Sure. Gary Brooker was on the SAME LIST, and I think at Times they have 'shared' the 'TOP SPOT', let's just Say. And it's a pretty SHORT List. Got to meet him only Once, and quite briefly, sad to say. But glad I DID!!!
What a Voice! What a SONG! A "NEW" song of CHRISTMAS? Can it be? Why Not! DEWAR'S voice and Trowers NOBLE Guitar are MORE than enough to make a "NEW" CHRISTMAS CAROL as a TRIBUTE to the old "Little Drummer Boy"!
EASILY! And that IS saying something!!! To me the ONLY rock 'duo' (if you wanted to compare) of guitar and Vocals that even comes CLOSE (for My $$) was ROD when he was with Jeff BECK! What a juggernaut THOSE 2 WERE! MickTaylor/M.Jagger, same list. Rod was No SLOUCH, esp. when he was flat out Rockin', so that's pretty High Praise! But WARRANTED!!! Oh, and of Course CLAPTON/BRUCE come to Mind as well.
Man, that wonderous time in my life ! Have my love, my family, and my dear friends. Life is was difficult, but, filled very joyous times. Everybody working, good jobs, thriving. Weekends, I could be with my gal and friends, at our favorite pub, or out with my mum and sisters at a jazz bar, sitting around the man playing piano, and us all singing along. It was so great. I was so blessed. And Robin Tower, with James Dewar, Chicago IL. Park West theatre. Nice intimate setting. Acoustics just fabulous ! I believe it was 4 of us, maybe 6, early 80's ? My memory going, since Covid. But, I'd have to say, of all the concerts I've been to, both outdoors, and Stadium appearances, the best for sound, and closeness to the artist, it was that night, seeing Robin Tower with James Dewar. I know at times, I was feeling so much love it radiated into unbridled Joy ! Now, so many decades later. Life's tragedies, had taken many. To me, it seemed a bit unbalanced and uneven. Best buds. Best man. Brothers-in-law, Father's and mother's in law. Father, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles. Wife. Cousins. All lost, gone forever. Few sisters, my brother, remain, scattered, across the country. Last, was my Mum. A year now. No funeral, no service, no burial. A necklace, with her ashes. Her executar, my oldest Sister, said, that's what Mum wanted. None of us together at all ? Seemed cruel to me. We all had such close relationships, and amazing times together. The message I received was, grieve , in place ! So, tonight, severe storms rolling through the city. I decided to listen to some music, along with the thunder ⚡... so I grabbed my phone, lit my Bluetooth speakers, hit, music. Up popped a version of, "I won't back down" nice rendition. Then next song, "Bluebird" ! This song, long associated with me, at home, and out for karaoke ! 😄 And up it comes tonight. It brought with it, back to me, that wonderous evening out, at The Park West. 🙏💙 Thank you to Robin Tower, James Dewar and the Band. Thank you. 🎵
Of the really slow, Sweet Ones...gotta AGREE! About to Begin!! (SO GOOD!!) Check out Bryce Janey's cover of it! Not bad! Also like 'Birthday Boy' from 'Caravan..." ALSO: 'Ballerina'. Same LIST!!
Jimmy was in my and many other peoples eyes the best rock singer of all time. This song showed his beautiful soft side. His vocals of the Touch of your loving hand with Stone the Crows shows the incredible talent that was waiting to be unleashed on the World. Goosebumps all round. ua-cam.com/video/xKtaRz8P5pw/v-deo.htmlsi=AdL0IfoPnBKleF2s

His voice made robin trower, they were good together.😅❤❤🎉
Rest in peace dear Martha Dewar the woman beside the man
Lovely sentiment , sometimes people forget the support given by those very often in the background

If that isn't beautiful what is.....
Absolutely .
The soul singer with blue eyes.
One of the most beautiful vocal performances ever. Jimmy thanks for your music!

What a superb voice. One of Scotland's finest. Sweet but mellow red wine comes to mind.
Faultless vocal . Pretty melody. Probably one take.
A very unique soft and elegant voice that complimented the music so well! God has a place for him for sure in his All Time Heavens Orchestra 🙏 RIP And thank you for all your hard work to bring so much joy to others ❤
Thank you for your kind comment .
I seen Them at Wings stadium on the "In City Dreams" tour......awesome concert....they are my favorite band of the 70s.....the soundtrack of my youth.
A song you just don’t want to end….
I was able to see this great vocalist on 3 different occasions. Great stuff.
In Remembrance of a wonderful , Gentle man ..God Bless Jimmy Dewar .12/10/1942 .../ 16/05/2002. .RIP
There is something wonderful about this guy. Would have been cool to meet him.

The best and I've listened to them all...his vocal on sailing is better than rods by a long stretch....that's how good he was.

The one thumbs down person is a sorry loser but I will pray for him or her.
More than a trace of Hendrix's "Waterfall" from his first album.
Trower / Dewar..... = Lennon / McCartney . ( Famous Collaborations )
BECK/STEWART CLAPTON/BRUCE 1) TROWER/DEWAR!!! (PAUL RODGERS IS on there TOO!)
@@allenmcdaniel1470 Rodgers/Kossoff to be precise. Great combinations.

why spoil a great track with all those Naff Bird sounds !!
No one else seems to mind them , there are other versions available , listen to one of those and stop making naff comments .
