Just seen you both on Ben Fogle's new Channel 5 programme with Luke and Sara. How amazing this is for all of you. You all looked so relaxed and having fun. Well done and may this being you many more subscribers and views. Loved it.xxxx
Just a short comment to let you know how much I enjoy your vlog's and watching what you are accomplishing each and every week while you restore your land and buildings, developing a beautiful and sustainable farm in the Portugal countryside. Your artistry with stone and hardscape along with your plantings, water management and animal husbandry is a wonder to see and an inspiration for those of us that get to come along vicariously on your journey. Thank you so much for bringing us along, be well.../B
The stonework is beautiful and the bright cheery flowers next to the house are so lovely they make me smile. Great work Andrea and Nick, thank you so much for sharing!❤❤
Happy Friday vlog is here 😊 I wonder how many of us watch the stone being laid and shout at the screen pointing out which stone he should put where. Makes me smile when I get it right. Have a great weekend. 😊
Love the crazy paving path! It would look amazing planted on both sides to soften the edges... Nick you make laying cement mix and stones look soooo easy 😊
Love the crazy paving very artistic. The weather sure is pants at the moment, but soon to pass. Interesting chicken feeder! Justin Rhodes is a great channel. Keep rolling guys ❤👍🏻
I just had to tell you how much I love the way you changed the intro to your Vlogs. I like hearing about what I’m going to see, and I really love the way you go from segment to segment rather than staying on one particular thing for long period of time. Congratulations on a positive change.
I really enjoyed this video. Last year I tried starting sweet potato slips as you did and also with placing the sweet potato horizontally and half deep in planting soil in a starter tray. I had much better results with half burying the potato in the soil and keeping the soil damp. After about 6 weeks I cut off six of the best slips growing upward from the potato and planted each in a 4 inch pot for another few weeks. The slips grew into nice vines that I planted in my raised bed (in western Oregon) and I got about 20 pounds of sweet potatoes in Sepember! Give this a try as a comparison experiment.
I am impressed with the variety of work displayed every week , if it has a motor , Nick can fix that . We all love seeing Angela in her greenhouse planting seeds and displaying the newest variety of plants and flowers ; or mixing up a fabulous dessert to have with a cup of tea . You both display a huge variety of talents and charm mixed with humor. How will you finish the stone walkway ? Will it connect with the Wood box ? The carport / garage area is really becoming a garden space quite pretty . Sir , are you a stone mason , or just like working with stones ? What a talent you have . Take care and many blessings 💕
Have been working with stone for many years, my grandfather used to build Granite Bridges for the council. My father is a retired Mechanic, so I guess it all rubs off down the family line
Wow ! Your knowledge of various motors is remarkable and you seem to have above average understanding of stones , tiles and blocks, amazing work. The family history ties come alive now . Just look at what you have accomplished . I appreciate your sharing 💕
Hello, Andrea and Nick. Good work on the granite walk way, Nick. I love the primulas that you potted up, Andrea. Good luck with the sweet potato vines, Andrea. See you next week❤️❤️
Chicken feeder is a disgustingly smart idea. I'm thinking about chickens since eggs are so expensive here, and generating free food is a good idea. I used to, when I was young and very poor, put sweet potatoes in water and grow them as a houseplant. Love the walkways...
That chicken feeder experiment is fascinating! It needs to be done in a big plot of land with neither you or neighbours too close - within smelling distance - but I'd love to hear how it goes, good or bad. I think the hens will be very happy!
Awesome vid as usual! The chicken feeder will be a bit gross to humans, but the chickens will be happy with the free food. It is a great way to use the unuseable. 🙂👍👍🇨🇦
As always, great variety every video. I have a tumbled brick driveway which we top up every second year. Great tip re the softer brush - will definitely follow your advice. The flower pot is so pretty. Thanks for always entertaining us so well!😍🇨🇦
Y'all do fantastic, beautiful work! But, before I forget, I must comment on the crate your sitting on while drilling the holes. I LOVE SUPER BOCK!!! IT'S MY FAVORITE BEER AND I CAN'T GET IT HERE!!! I'D GIVE YOU $100 PLUS SH & HANDLING FOR THAT CRATE!!! OH HECK, MAKE IT $200!!! ❤ ✝️🙏❤🇺🇸🇬🇧🇵🇹⛵👣🤗
Another great one! Impressed with the “polyphenols”, but then you also did that with your hydration knowledge and bread making skills ! Love it. Have a good productive week.
Hi Angie. We grew some beautiful purple sweet potatoes here in pathetic Algarve. About 6 kg per plant! Used same method, except larger jars, allowing the slips to root in the water.
I think the "maggot factory" will smell like hell. But for the chickens🐔 its a good idea. But what about other animals, like the fox,it will be also atrackted to the meat.
Absolutely love your path Nick, ❤ Andrea your plant pot looks beautiful, so full of colour ❤ yes Nick, I saw Justin Rhodes video on the bucket that feeds the chickens with maggots, take care both of you, sending much love ❤❤❤❤
I would love to see you all come together under ‘Father Nicks’ expert direction and build a terrace like this outside of Cindy’s house. She really needs somewhere to sit and chill bless her ❤
I think I will mention to Cindy Vine that Nick's cement mixer is not tilted down to keep from filling with rain water, LOL Great progress on the walkway.
Weldone road work with the run-off plan. The Portugues may be don''t care because it is hinder for a small portion of the year, but I like the remark. Great video!
Hi Andrea, In New Zealand sweet potatoes are called Kumera and they are purple skins and flesh. So I knew what you had. In Australia sweet potatoes are orange skins and flesh. Both types are beautiful as a roast vegie. Loved your flower pot display.❤
❤❤ God bless you both 🙏 Thank you very much 👍👍👍
Love the show. The only thing I don't like is when you ask people to like or subscribe. Connotation of desperation, which you should not have. The show stands on its own merits.
I tried that but found my sweet potato did better to plant in soil filled large pot and when vines are long enough I break off and plant in the place where they can grow as they want.
Why not drill a hole at the deepest point of the puddle, which can be gauged, standing on one leg, wearing a wellington boot. If it comes over the top of the wellies, you need to move to higher ground
New viewer binge watching in order your channel and my first comment, not sure why but do they hunt in Portugal and if so what? You guys have done amazing things, I enjoy it very much! ✌🏻💞😊
Phew !!!!that chicken feeder will stink , I have fly traps which use some sort of powder mixed with water to attract the little darlings but boy does it smell and especially when you have caught a lot and they have drowned and layed their eggs and it is full of maggots too. I have to get up early and have no breakfast when digging a whole to empty it all into. Yuk !!!! Lana down under.
Andrea, do you need to change the water while they are in the jars? Very interesting. I have never seen it done with the vegetable, this is great 👍 I only have done avocado seeds and you have to change the water every few days. Nick, the granite puzzle walkway is a statement by itself. Is there a reason to water after finishing? I'm sorry, I sometimes forget, but I think you explained it before. Great to see you living a rewarding life.
Love watching your projects they're so interesting ❤

You’re a wizard at laying stone! Did you learn that at Hogwarts?❤️🤗🐝
You did an incredible job on your stonework ! Artistically magnificent!!! ❤❤❤

Beautiful job. We won't tell Ange where her house broom went.
Suddenly, I'm really glad I'm not a chicken! Love the path, the flowers, the framing...ok the chicken food is ingenious.
Have a good week!

Another great video Nick! Angela is getting everything looking marvelous!
Love, love the walkway. Great idea with the raw, spoiled meat.
It must be so much easier to do projects in this cooler weather. Keep it up.
Always Awesome! Beautiful couple❤❤❤❤❤❤

Sweet potatoes are in short supply here in NZ at present, and $14 a kilo. I hope you get a wonderful harvest. Yum my favorite.
Did not know sweet potatoes were started like that...
Hi from Greece, you do an excellent job.😊😊😊
I think I will mention to Cindy Vine that Nick's cement mixer is not tilted down to keep from filling with rain water, LOL Great progress on the walkway.

Yes they mainly hunt wild boar, which are a pest, they also hunt deer rabbits etc, but not so much. Also hunting is very season restricted,
❤❤❤

Is that a controlled fire behind you too😮
Yep
I am afraid you will find those 2mm a stumbling block

The water is added to the dry sand cement mix to make it harden off better
Heroin started in my kitchen window it's just now routing
Heroin?
Looks like too much straw in the top of the bucket??
