Watching the band's long-awaited live debut brings a peculiar sensation, as if the music of many decades past is back on stage in full health and force (and a bit of Candlemass visual reference with the black hat?). I wondered how good their massive and spacious music would sound live, and they delivered: while the airy keys soar to the skies together with the shimmering vocals the crowd is being rocked by the mighty, rumbling waves of doom. TodoMal is that kind of band which I think would excel in performing at both smaller, intimate venues where the crowd is just an arm's length away, and at the large open stages, where their sound can reach truly grandiose scale. Hearing and seeing the band's live manifestation to me felt almost like a religious experience. Which is ironic, considering their views on religion. Okay then, not religious but something like a 'secular communion', using words from their own descriptions. For everyone of us who couldn't be there for a live communion, here's this glimpse.
