  • Just talking a little bit about this really great gasket maker that I found and the amazing results I've had with it. Here is a link to the exact stuff I was using on amazon in case you can't find it local. amzn.to/2CV8gsZ

This is a great product. I came by it after re-sealing a jet pump housing on a jet ski. Did the whole job with blue rtv and it leaked. The owners manual called for "The Right Stuff".. Derp. I was pretty pleased with the results. Basically turns to rubber.

Used it on the transmission pan on my 78 GMC and no leaks. The gasket that came with the filter kit DID leak. Forums I read say use The Right Stuff only and all report good results. They also say to throw whatever gasket you get with the filter kit in the trash.

I am going to use this on the bottom of my timing chain cover where it meets the oil pan. The rubber gasket alone just isn't a 100% effective seal for this critical area. Thanks for making this video and sharing your experiences. Best wishes!

I bought a can myself, hope it fix the case issue. Tried loctite 518 at first, wasn't working the way i hoped it would.

It says on the can not to use on headgaskets or parts in contact with gasoline

+1. Trust it as a gasket alternative you don't need to wait for to start driving. Not sure if it comes off though. That's why I'm here looking. I'll still use the newer pressed (formed) in or head gaskets.
