I love it what lower-tier football means to people in the UK. It's not just about supporting your local football team, but it brings the local community together. Much love from Poland. Keep doing your magic, Stuntpegg!
It's definitely getting more popular, crowds at my local club and those in the same or similar leagues around the county are insane, up to a coup[le of thousand for Maidstone United for example.
@@ninjalectualx It does, especially in rural areas. Village people don't have a lot of fun places to go so football can be vital for communities. By the way, that's why in Russia non-league matches are often called "village football" (деревенский футбол).

How nice, the lady calling you "my love"... In certain parts of my country (Greece), a similar lady working at a similar place would call someone "my heart", or "my soul", "καρδιά μου" and "ψυχή μου". It feels... "warm".
Perfect way to describe it, it feels warm and like home. I hope people never feel uncomfortable or like they can’t use terms of endearment because it’s lovely.
I’m an American, but from watching these videos, there’s just something that feels both magical and homey about a non-league game. Like you’re visiting the Shire for the first time.
Yeah I agree. I grew up watching Australian non-league games in the 80s. There was a guy who dressed in a Hearts FC outfit with a thick Scottish accent. He would take down the goals after the game. I often stood next to a Serb Croat guy who would shout out stuff in that language.
Same here, American and not even a 'football' fan but the level of dedication to their teams and fierce but friendly rivalries between towns reminds me of baseball here in the 70's and 80's, before we all forgot how to behave in public. Love Nieves perspective and humor too.

Being fed up with trying to get tickets for my team, I was a season ticket holder for over 20 years and didn’t renew for 2years to look after my aging mother with dementia. I had a flashback to when my team wasn't in a national league. In Brazil, the system of divisions is different: we have four national leagues (Serie A, B, C, and D), but we also have regional federations with clubs that either compete in their own leagues or don't have leagues at all. In this particular championship, clubs without a national division compete for a spot to play in Serie D. Additionally, the regional federations have several divisions as well. My team spent five years in a regional second division, playing on amateur fields. I remember one game where we arrived late, and my dad asked the assistant referee what the score was. Back then, the tickets were much cheaper, and the crowd was more entertaining, but now I’m happy to be in Serie B. We won both Serie D and Serie C, and now Serie B is coming soon!
This reminds me a lot of similar leagues I watched in Australia in the 1980s. I grew up watching always standing up. The balls were much heavier then; sometimes an adult would leap in front of me to stop the ball and say "that would have knocked you out". One time I turned up with my dad to watch. The gardener was the only person there. He said "haven't you heard? We have been booted out of the league for not paying registration". That was 1983. Interesting you can buy food in your non league; we don't even offer that. Unless things have changed a lot since I watched!
Quite a few former Norwich City players end their playing days at Wroxham before hanging up their boots. The late Martin Peters ended his playing days at Gorleston FC. You might see a future big name in a non-league game but you're far more likely to see someone who once played at a very high level. Non-league is much more fun.
@@geoffpoole483 Indeed, quite a few ex canaries wore the blue & white stripes of the Yachtsmen. Also watched Derby manager Paul Warne play for Wroxham before he went on to play for Wigan and Rotherham. And what a terrific player he was.

Loved this video. Me and my brother are going to watch OJM cfc V Lichfield City this weekend.
Thanks a million for another insightful, respectful, fun one.
You need your own show. Love your content and think it's more informative than some much more well-funded projects. I tune in from Miami fairly regularly. This edition was particularly adorable too ("silly country" and no dogs allowed).
Love your music. Very uplifting
Ahh, that's why it took a while... I've been waiting on the top of the pyramid... Great to see you again! ✌😀

Always nice to watch your videos , amusing and informative. I look forward to the next.
This is what I miss about Germany. Local football games. Any given Sunday you could point to a map of Germany and you would find a football match within 10 km.
