I came to see when to harvest my potatoes, I don't understand what faith or background has to do with it. If people want to equate their issues over certain faiths they should leave veg out of it. Just saying...

New to your channel. I just planted my potatoes in 50lb rice/ dog food bags I used a paper puncher for holes at the bottom, as they grew I added more dirt. when I harvest them
i will reuse the dirt. They flowered 2 weeks ago I cant wait to see how they did!

@MrAlistar99 Excellent! I also found out that IAMS dog food bags are food grade! So I've collected many all winter, and they are prepped to plant my first set. Each month, I will plant 4 bags. So my last harvest will be October. Last year, i got around 200 lbs of potatoes. In December, I intentionally let around 30 potatoes go crazy all set to plant these.
      Happy planting 😊

My potatoes will never go to the flowering stage because of the hot dry summer. They will also wilt and die. When their tops become all yellow, it is time to harvest them. :) And don't use wood chips to plant potatoes cause you need to hill the potato plants so that it can produce more tubers. I hill my potato plants using half composted tree leaves or freshly cut grass clippings. You don't need to import wood chips from outside. And you don't need to replant your potatoes in March. I left some potatoes unharvested. They always come back in early April here in Zone 8.

This year, as well as the buckets, i have made a veggie plot where i used to keep hens so am hoping for a bumper spud crop🤞. I see you use red potatoes. Do you have any preference for which variry you grow? And is that based on taste, storage etc? Also do you buy seed potatoes or do you save your own from your harvest? I think I'm the only one who fails with growing potatoes everytime.....so I make myself happy by watching these videos 😁I feel so much joy to see those potatoes being collected from the soil

@@homesci3596 maybe try chucking them in whole - I bet you’ll be victorious. I tried with my daughters world book day potatoe last year because I didn’t want to waste it and just to see if it worked in a small plant pot 😂 I then repotted it in to a biggun. We got a few, but picked them too early. Try again, because they’re super easy. I’m just going to wait next time until they’ve died off a bit to get bigger ones.

Excellent... I'm in Tampa - St Pete, Florida and I've got three containers growing right now. Big top growth. I had a lot of fun showing my 7 Y.O. granddaughter how to grow potatoes. We'll see in a couple of months! Thank you for the video!
