@@AlexCruz-wc1yo Naturally each sport has its own rules, much like someone who does not wrestle would not instinctively get out of a half the correct way. Wrestling being the "hardest" land sport is owed not from being a grappling sport, but also the one with the most emphasis on physically overpowering your opponent. Sure, outthinking and outspeeding your opponent is still important, but physical conditioning required for wrestling is very insane.

One thing that UFC has done is exposing what I just said by showing to the average uneducated viewer the difference between the raw brute force of wrestling ( free style wrestling is hand down the best of the two versions thoug but still) and the classy, refined and complicated art yet lethal beauty of Japanese judo in the form of BJJ.ie: Ben Askren vs Damian Maia.
@@AlexCruz-wc1yo I don't think we disagree necessarily. I do not claim that judo/bjj are lesser of less effective sports. As you have stated and was clearly shown in the MMA match. I am merely claiming that in isolation wrestling is by far the most physically taxing and therefore "hardest" of the grappling sports.
As an excersize in pedantry, there are still arguments for wrestling within that match. Mainly, that it is not a fair comparison of the two sports. Any decent MMA fighter will know at least how to resist all grappling styles. So it can be argued that the determinant of victory in that match was up to the physical condition and skill of the fighters.

Folkstyle is based in controlling the opponent and holding him down not just exposing his back the ground. You aim to pin is shoulder(s) down to the mat against his will. It's a physical chess fight basically on the ground. It's better than Freestyle and GrecoRoman.

They are actually working on the ground BJJ style, look like they have more ground game than freestyle wrestling
freestyle is way more throwing then folkstyle since folkstyle has alot stricter rules about slamming so most of it is getting the takedown and trying to work your way on the ground

I only recently got to know the term folkstyle. I only knew greco-roman and freestyle.
What's the difference?
You mustn't catch below the waist in greco Roman style. In folk style you mustn't slam people on the ground like you can in greco roman

David Taylor is in here a couple times. The 2013 ncaa finals takedown against Kyle Dake and the takedown vs Lehigh and then the takedown in Illinois in 2013 for his 4th big ten championship then and which is before the highlights of dicamillo pinning Darian cruz in that head scissors then has another clip after of him pinning Kokesha

It’s pretty much the same as high school with some different rules
GR you can't grab legs, so it's free style with some add rules

For collegiate wrestling, nfhs changed the rules from 2011, so now it is illegal. The move is a figure four around the head.

When I wrestled the rule was: You can figure four the head but not the body. You can scissor the body but not the head.
0:25 I thought you couldn’t suplex in folkstyle? Well it’s not really a suplex but I thought you couldn’t slam like that or lock hands when they are on the ground like that.
Might be a little late to respond but he locked his hands when the other guy was on his feet so totally legal

No u can't choke
at 3:18, you cannot apply pressure when doing that move, then it become illegal. It is not a triangle choke, it is a figure four around the head. It is illegal in high school wrestling but legal in freestyle.

@@Th3Chuzzl3r pretty sure I made it obvious I didn't wrestle in college. Freestyle was all the off season tournaments, so just assumed. I only wrestled in middle and high school

This is folk wrestling, honestly one of the only real wrestling types out there. WWE (professional wrestling) is fake. So what most people view as “fake” or “dumb” is honestly just their opinion. And honestly whether it’s fake or not, wrestling has a lot of physical requirements. I’d know because I’m currently in Middle School Folk wrestling, and I appreciate when people doubt what I go through for 2-3 hours after school every day.

Greco and freestyle are more balanced than folkstye when it comes to the ratio of ground game to stand up. Wrestling is a stand up art, folkstyle compromises that for a groundgame better than freestyle or greco but worse than all other grappling styles and worse takedown game. It also has weird and obscure rules in regard to fighting. Folkstyle is worse for fighting.
And styles of wrestling like CACC, judo or sambo obviously beat fsw, grw and folkstyle because they have submissions, much better ground games, equal stand up etc.
