    A lot of spiders do, in fact, burrow. Tarantulas, Wolf Spiders, and Trapdoor Spiders being well-known ones. Not through solid rock, but they also don't tend to grow to 3-4m in length.

    I am not sure if anyone else mentioned this yet, but you can definitely spend more than a day in a cave as long as you are properly prepared. Cave explorers often pack for overnight/multi-night trips because it can take that long just to get to the unexplored parts again. They "pack it in, pack it out". Which means waste, trash, etc. all comes back out of the cave with them.

    God, this reminds me of that one game where you’re a police investigator investigating a missing person inside basically a cockroach worshipping, infested, cult building where they infest people with cockroach hatchlings and the walls are grimy and dank. It’s the perfect little horror game. With the *perfect* uncomfortable vibe. It has an amazing raunchy name but I can’t remember and I can’t find it looking it up for the death of me. Bug something? Or rot something? I can’t remember. This game gives me those vibes. Gab should play it.

    Those spiders that have a bunch of tiny spiders that 'come out of it' don't actually have them coming out of it. Wolf Spiders carry their young on their back from a few days to a couple of weeks. So when a mama Wolf Spider gets squished, their young disperse off of their backs. It's kind of sad actually. Wolf Spiders are the only spiders to carry their young on their backs, but there are multiple scorpions that also do this. I actually really like spiders. I find them fascinating and I find it even more fascinating how we, as humans who are like a million times bigger than them, are still so incredibly afraid of them. They're out there just tryin' to live their lives... lol

    • @theucheao
      @theucheao 3 місяці тому +2

      I’d say it’s the reputation they have in human history/literature that’s seeped into the average persons conscious as well as the uncanniness of their multiple appendages, eyes, obvious fangs that unnerve the human species to their core. Humans just don’t enjoy looking at multiple limbed things in general, especially when they’re hairy. Also, they’re quite intelligent, which always makes it feel like they have some bad intentions with their evil looking, sharp appearances. But yes, they are generally harmless unprovoked and actually help prevent insect infestations. I have a love hate relationship with them.

    Patrick had some impressive superhuman abilities between the sledgehammer and lifting some some 300 lb rocks to make a bridge; though, I think it added to the charm of the game. Some sections where you hide from some mega-spiders would've fleshed it out a bit more, but, for what it was, the game was a short yet fairly spooky adventure into the depths.

    That thing Gab mentioned where the baby spiders come out of the big one...happened to me years ago. Still one of my most traumatic memories. I have terrible recall but I remember every single moment of that even though I was crying and making lots of stupid sounds because I was panicking so much.
    I opened my bedroom door at 3am to go to the bathroom and one of the biggest, fattest black spiders I've ever seen dropped down in front of my face and landed at my feet (I'm guessing it was on the edge of the doorframe when I opened the door, and I startled it?). Then it started crawling into my room, probably because it was darker than the hallway. I panicked, grabbed a long thing from the floor and sort of batted it back into the hallway. Then the babies burst out of it, and they covered the carpet in seconds. I was already arachnophobic, so...that didn't help.
    Thankfully the spider went down the stairs instead of trying to get back in my room, and someone else in the house came to help me because I was completely losing it by that point.

    when I first heard of this game and that it involved giant spiders, I made sure to play it before watching any UA-cam playthroughs. I LOVE spiders (especially tarantulas) and I didn't want any spoilers. I found it quite disappointing that there's zero chance of death, considering that ALL spider encounters in this game are cutscenes, and you never have to run or fight. It's also disappointing how Patrick is able to escape through crawl spaces, since spiders are pretty much contortionists when it comes to crawling through tight spaces. But my love for those cute creatures overrode all of that, and now I play the game at least once a month to get my spider fill.
    Also, before anyone asks, no I do not own any pet spiders/tarantulas. I would love to, but my wife is deathly arachnophobic, and wouldn't feel highly uncomfortable knowing that there are arachnids under the same roof as her; even if she never went into the room where they'd be, knowing they're there would be enough.

The bite of a funnel-web spider for example will kill a human very quickly, so it's best to seek medical attention immediately😅.

    This cave reminds me of the spider scene from Harry Potter.

    I feel the same about pigeons too, I’m currently rearing a baby one that was abandoned by its parents ❤

    6:26 I have a pigeon that comes to my kitchen window and demands food with very loud cooing. I would extend my left arm and he'd hop on and eat from my other hand. Quite a spoiled little guy.

    Weird they made this so video gamey with the sledgehammer that smashes boulders in 3 hits, a character with super strength able to chuck boulders at rock walls to make perfectly formed bridges, the weird unexplained door puzzle ( if you can even call it that) and also "horror" but never any danger... Also why was Steve burned...

    I hate that anyone feels they have to wear any amount of makeup to be "presentable" on camera. You look great! I'm so here for normalizing humans being human!

    Interesting how much more scarier that spider on the underside of the bridge was! Something about seeing the underside elicits that instinctual fear that that is the spider's side that'll get on you, on your arm or your face, and so much more terrifying than the top side. It's so cringe just seeing it! (Horror-cringe, not embarrassing-cringe 😆)
