Well, we have just returned from 2 weeks in Polruan! How delightful it would have been to see you there! Have been going for 50 years because we love it so much. An old school friend had her first teaching job in Fowey back in the seventies. The landscape around Lantic is spectacular, our favourite bit of the coast. You can mix and match the walks and hikes, get a bus and walk back along the coast path, whatever you fancy. Our favourite is to walk from Polruan along the coast because the views of Lantic and Pencarrow are wonderful. Climb down to the beach and eat your pasties and feel like kings! Thank you for always making us laugh. Liz and Steve xx
wow 50 years! Liz and Steve it will be my first time next year. I won't be getting another 50 years in at my age 😂. Yes I will head up that side of Polruan and the South West Coast Path towards Lantic. I have watched a few lovely UA-cam videos and I think I know where I am going now. 🧐👁👁🚶♀⛵⛵↗↗➡➡
What can I say! Lovely walk🌄, beautiful ancient church⛪, Mediterranean style Bay,🌅 rolling hills and fields🌾, lush green countryside,🌿 quaint cottages,🏠 ferry rides🛥️, spectacular sea views, a sweet doggie🐕, interesting historical info, shame it was tad too warm for you! 🥵those uphill walks need cool ☁️ weather! It was a pleasure to watch, thank you😊
@@CornishWalkingTrails Wonderful video. Alison has said it all. I will visit Fowey and Polruan next year and it's mainly because of your many charming CWTs videos. I won't be doing up and down hills, across fields, stiles and mud challenges as you do. I will be doing easy, older lady walks. Thank you both.🧡
Hi to you both. We are in Truro & housebound at the mo with a poorly old pooch. Having these delightful walks to watch gives us something to look forward to & ideas for the future. Always light hearted & informative, a tonic at a sad time. Thank you!
Done the Hall Walk clockwise from Fowey a few times in the past, until a land slip a few years ago involved a very steep climb in Polruan, to old now at 80. Still visit Cornwall. Love your walks Sarah an Andrew, keep me going during the winter months.
Again fantastic video of a place not too familiar with, could live there too. Love the sound of those diesel motors on boat with my earphones! 1990 the book relatively old, I'm bleddy ancient then lol. 🤣🤣
A really beautiful cities. Your walks have made me fall in love with the Fowey area. I'm glad doggie is with you today. He did so well on the ferry. Loved the whole walk. Beautiful area.
Ahhh.. fabulous walk, great humour, gorgeous scenery, history, boats, doggie's...what more could you want 😁👌💕. I have done the hall walk anticlockwise, but never this one with the church and Lantic bay...looks amazing and definitely one for me to have a go at 👍. We've just returned from our holiday in St Just and visited Zennor Church, after you showed the Mermaid of Zennor's chair...so chuffed to have seen that 😁. We walked to the coast but didn't manage the circular that you did. Would have loved to find the ruined building with the painting of the ladies carrying their horse bridle 😔... maybe next time 🙏👌😘
Another stunning scenic country side walk, full of humour as always, nice commentary Sarah, not sure what to make of the mythical decapitating story! like Andrew said he wouldn’t know which way to turn next, I think Andrew has just made a new barn dance move, we can call it lift and drag, or lift and shuffle! The Church where Daphne du Maurier was married was amazing, I see your Ferry has arrived so I will take my leave, no more Ferry jokes Andrew, I’m taking a trip to my fridge now for my overdue ice cream 🍨 and your sweet faithful friend will be ready for a nice cool bowl of water 💦 on arriving home, you do fall lucky 🍀 for some splendid weather on your travels, thanks 🙏 for taking us with you, take care both of you until next time 🤗👋
@@CornishWalkingTrails I don’t blame you Sarah, we are truly blessed with this fabulous island of ours, I have traveled from one end to the other in the past and marvelled at its astonishing beauty, take care both of you, until next time 🤗
Thanks for another lovely walk, views of Polruan and Fowey and the coast are breath taking. Nice to see you back with a bit of gate leanin. Can I point out the lane with the twelve foot hedge showed no signs of hittage. Holly House is now on my Lottery to buy list, lovely cottage.
I have loved watching this one. (I like them all) but really enjoyed this one. I am not very good at reading plaques etc, but I think I would use you video to prompt me which to look at. Loved St Wyllow Church at Llanteglos. Nice to see the lovely carving on the pews.
Love Polruan and Fowey, have stayed in both several times and of course recently returned from a holiday in Carbis Bay. Enjoyed watching this vlog brought back many happy memories including scrapping our car along a very narrow road in Polruan! Xx
What a fab walk once again, never been to Polruan was tempted to go across on the ferry last time we were in Fowe , what a mistake that was not going! and what beautiful scenery along the walk some I haven't ever seen, thank you so much both of you ,you have made my day again Keep up the great work with your videos. Xx
That's a shame we missed you: love watching your weekly videos and enjoy so much as we live nearly 300 hundred miles away. We done the Fowey Hall walk on the following Wednesday 22nd. Didn't go to the church but did stop at Pont for our Pasty lunch.
What a beautiful and hilarious walk Sarah and Andrew. It makes me glad to live in Cornwall where I can enjoy coastal paths of this sheer size and beauty and visit beautiful, peaceful Cornish coastal villages as well. 🦔👍
Yes great video, I like polruan, came across your channel and subbed, look forward to watching your future walks. All the very best for 2022. Bri and frei east Yorkshire
Love this part of Cornwall and have been on this walk before , we also started at Fowey as we were staying there, also been down to Lantic bay beach several times in the past, it's a very steep path down to the beach in places and a very hard climb back up, a bit like that hill out of Talland bay in parts, take plenty of water if you do it.
Hi Sarah and Andrew, that was a lovely walk. I found the views, especially the sea views very calming and peaceful and what beautiful weather you had. I'm glad you took the short route back for "Boy" (that's what I call him!😃) Thank you 🙏
Missed you last week, Another great walk, every part was different and beautiful. Oh, you can lose your head and carry on walking ! It was on TV. Well it was on an episode of The Young Ones !!!! Vivian stuck his head out of the train window 😁👍🥟🥟🥟
Very entertaining video, Sarah and Andrew, and one of my favourite walks. I usually park in the small car park on the left just before you enter Polruan, in fact the one you passed through when you left the coast path. Polruan is an unbelievably pretty village, I prefer it to Fowey, though the amazing view of Fowey is part of its charm. Lantic Bay is stunning, and well worth the descent if you're feeling energetic! Lanteglos such a beautiful church. Bob Acton's books are always full of interesting history, pity they're a bit out of date so directions hard to follow sometimes. Many thanks.
Oh such a beautiful walk 🥰 Fantastic views and a lovely village. And the magnificent church. New tag on Google Maps 😁 We also had some warmer days here about a week ago, up to 20 degrees. Now it is 12-13 and more normal for the season. Looks really warm to wear jeans on a walk! Have a lovely weekend. Torunn 🥰
I always smile when you say you have another tag on Google maps - there must be so many now :) The weather forecast was for about 17-19 degrees C. On the journey home, we passed a garage with a temperature display - 26 degress! For me that's the difference between jeans and shorts!! Sarah :)
Beautiful, I sailed here in June and the first day ashore we took the ferry to Polruan. The Polruan side is the far better side as you have the better views.
Had to watch this one in silence! Will catch up with the words later....stunning scenery. And lots of doggy friends along the way for your faithful partner to meet! Looked like a very long walk...will see why you only gave it a 6 out of 10 when I watch it with words on the I pad! Feeling very down at mo as it's looking extremely unlikely we will once again be unable to travel to Cornwall....this time because of fuel shortages. Have been unable to get petrol for over a week here. So shaping up for another year of cancellations, unless the shortages sort themselves out. So frustrating & disappointing I can't tell you. Seems I'm destined not to return to my favourite place as something always happens it seems, out of our control, to put a stop to our plans.....thank goodness I still have your vids to watch anyway...xJ x
Very nice scenery, but why doesn’t Andrew shave that excuse for a beard off! Lovely churches and views of the coast. You must have had warmer weather than us. It’s been pleasant, but not over hot.
