I love this! Holidayed on the Lizard! Church Cove! Lizard village! Mullion cove n village i love Cornwall! I love your Review but not only informative for an old man of 68 but Comical, honest and most of all you two are beutiful x x
Thank you so much you two, I spend most of my weekend looking and catching up on your videos. I’ve been going down to Cornwall since 1976 on our honeymoon my wife introducing my to this wonderful and amazing peninsula. Sadly I lost her in 2011 but I said I would continue every year to come down. I always watch your videos with happy tears . Thank you again.
Love the Lizard.Never ventured to church cove...Will do now.. many thanks for the video. You never know when we move down to Cornwall soon we might bump into you.
Thank you both for this video I grew up in Cornwall (Truro) my grandparents lived at The lizard on the cliff near coastguard station .I walked to church cove millions of times it’s fab isn’t it spent my school holidays at Lizard such great memories for me 🥰
Defo more Wilkie Collins and legends please. Whether the tales are true or not I think the retelling of these tales ensures they are kept alive and not lost in time.
@1251 the house to the right of the orange covered cottage was my grandparents house from 1962 to 1971 incredible memories of this place basspoint house awesome video
Absolutely love the 1914 life boat station and so pleased to see it again as every time I get down to Cornwall I try to visit as it’s definitely my favourite part of Cornwall.
Love the Wilkie Collins idea! One of my favourite books on Cornwall. Particularly enjoy his story of the hermit mathematician in Minions and his self deprecating story of going down a mime in Botallack.
What a fabulous walk, yes definately more Wilkie Collins please.I wanted very much to visit The Lizard whilst we were in Falmouth but sadly time was not on our side,I think we shall be there in Cornwall again maybe next year. Many thanks for showing us this beautiful and interesting walk.Take care both of you 😁👌
Enjoyed your Video. My wife who passed in 2015 had many a holiday in the Lizard. Mullion too. The walks are stunning. Thank you for bringing back my memories. Have stayed at 3 locations in church cove. Inc marriners and the boathouse. Thanks again.xx
Thank you, brings back memories of our holiday in June, I have changed my profile picture to show you and your other viewers what it looked like when the invasive suculant was in full flower, it was like a waterfall of pink. You can see the little shops at the top of the picture, stunning. Thanks again !👍🥟🥟🥟🥟🥟
Hi Sarah and Andrew, another wonderful evening walk, the The Lizard area of Cornwall is stunning and your video shows it at its best, More Wilkie Collins please.
Yes its lovely walking around the route you took , better in the evening as you did and even better when the crowds have gone. Our favourite walk is from Looe, catch the bus (free with a bus pass ) to Polperro and walk the S.W.C.P. back to Looe to get to Looe in the late evening with lights reflecting in the water, pure joy.
Fantastic walk, also my favourite, absolutely stunning scenery and a great deal of information. Such a special place the Lizard, so many memories and a place that feels like home. Great walk guys and very entertaining!
What a super walk! Staying in Marazion this week (been looking out for you!) so will definitely be trying out the walk in the next few days. Keep up the fabulous work!
Fun, interesting & informative - what more could you want in a video? Clever editing again & Church Cove brought back wonderful memories of “The Mariner” As for the ice cream - Mmmm! could eat one right now.
Proper Jobby 🙂 we did this walk the other evening and it is a fantastic evening walk, theres a few steps to climb at Hounsel, but otherwise its an easy stroll, we decided to walk up the lane to the village after reaching lizard point.
Beautiful walk, we did a similar walk here in July, started from Lizard but walked in the opposite direction down to Caerthillian Cove, Lizard Point Housel Bay, Church Cove and back to The Lizard, the walk is 4 1/2 miles started at 16.30 and took us 4 hours 🏖🌊🌞😎🌅
Absolutely fantastic walk full of interest history and amazing stories , the scenery in the evening light was fantastic, being a photographer I would have loved to have been there to capture that stunning Cornish light too. You always do such lovely videos and this was one of your best , more Wilkie Collins too please ,,,,,,,,Brian&Jane
Your love for this area shows through on this fun walk. I love the swimming hole at Church Cove and the bench on the hill. What a gorgeous view. Interesting stories-I always learn something new. Definitely a 10 out of 10 evening walk.
Loved your humorous walking trail as always, the Lizard has a very picturesque but treacherous Looking coast line, especially Church Cove but the view from the bench was amazing, the whole area is steeped in history of shipwrecks and smuggling, and some very strange people! I thought the haunted burial area was very creepy, Legend, Myth, or, True! this is a very beautiful and informative walk Sarah and Andrew, would love to hear more Wilkie Collins Stories please, I also understand why your furry friend is at home, not doggy friendly at all! that massive hole in the ground would give me nightmares, thank you 😊 both for a most enjoyable ramble! 🤗
Sarah and Andrew, once again. Love! Love! Love! Yes 10 out of 10 Thank you. PS: Just wondering though..........Wilkie Collins book is calling it "Pistol" Meadow and The National Trust sign is calling it "Pistil" Meadow. Which is correct? Any observations?
Good spot! That is another myth that we didn't touch on because we didn't want to muddy the waters. There is some debate about the meadow being called after the volume of pistols found, hence the differing spelling. Sarah :)
I love your history lessons! And I also love a ghost walk! The coastline is just stunning around the Lizard. Takes your breath away with some of your shots of it at sunset. Is that the cove that a certain Mr.Poldark swam in or has my memory served me wrongly? Think I may have mixed it up with another one. My daughter is still travelling home believe it or not....so far it has taken her 11 hours from the Lizard to Kent. They are worn out....somehow their memories of sunsets in the Lizard this week, have disappeared in a haze of car fumes on the M25....oh my....just shows how lucky you are to be able to do local evening walks like this one in such a magnificent setting. Keep the history talks coming & the myths and magic....J x
Crashing back down to reality! They will have plenty of wonderful memories - they struck lucky with the weather! I think the swim was at Porthgwarra if my memory serves right, with lots of golden sunshine! Sarah :)
Love your walks guys! I was in The Lizard in May (not my first time) wish I had known about Pistil Meadow! Has fired my imagination. Am hoping to visit again next year. Also just watched your video on your mixed media art work and loved it. So talented and inspiring.
I spent my mid to late teens in the Lizard. Pistol meadow and Pistol Lane ,which leads back to town, is a weird place. I was walking back up the lane one evening and this gent breezed past me, wearing traditional fishing clothes. It's a narrow lane so I stepped in, the bugger ignored me. I went to give him a petulant mouthful so I turned. He was gone. There are no turn offs on that lane and you can almost see from top to bottom. I don't believe in spooks, but that was weird. Even more eerie is the House at the top of the lane. Wartha Manor. It was pretty much abandoned in the 80s and had the air of a haunted house. That place ain't right either... 😕
Oh, this was a marvellous video. So many interesting details and full of beautiful shots. I would absolutely want to have more of Wilkie Collins 👍😀 I have already bought the book from Bookdepository (free shipping) and I will definitely read more before our next walking holiday. I have also downloaded the walk instructions with the very beautiful illustrations. Thank you! This was a real treat. Torunn 💞
Just caught up with the video (nothing gets by me!) When you do more in this area please try and keep a lookout for Choughs. Lovely memories of eating a pasty and watching them. Bliss
Great video, as always!! 😊 Would love to see more Wilkie Collins stories. Also would love for you to try a walk from the iWalk Cornwall app. There are so many walks on this app that take you to the lesser known parts of Cornwall. The app also gives you loads of information about the history of the area and the nature. I think you would both love it.
Hi Sarah and Andrew, “Thank CWT it’s Friday!” Great video yet again, but the bedtime stories need a more soothing end for conducive sleep. Also should you be touching a plant that sound like ILLKILLYA!🤪😍

I’ve just used this for a walk on Bodmin. Very impressed. Your phone tells you when you’ve reached a marker and it’s time to read the next direction.
Great suggestion! Sarah :)

@@CornishWalkingTrails It is a good healing herb : ))
More Wilkie Collins, please!

I liked the ghostly end to the video, but the silhouette of the cattle I'm afraid, didn`t Moooove me in the least.
LOL! Sarah :)
Is this the beginning of your own book of guided walks?

Has Andrew been eating the local mushrooms!?
You shud do Cornish nite ghost walks , talking with ghosts
