Zermatt, Switzerland

Zermatt’s idyllic setting at the foot of the Matterhorn, has made it well-known to all skiers in the world. Said to have been “discovered” mid-century by British mountaineers, Zermatt is a closed village (or town!), which means that foreigners are not permitted to buy property there.
Located at a height of about 5200 feet above sea-level, Zermatt is said to be one of the most expensive resorts in the Alps and lodging there isn’t cheap.
So, sit back and enjoy the sights (and sounds) of this quaint village.
