Well, in real life, there are only a few women in the world who can actually do the Produnova so they have used a bit of technical wizardry here instead. It's a bit like the triple axel in the movie I, Tonya - there were only three other women in the world who were currently able to replicate Tonya Harding's 1992 triple axel and none of them were willing to do it for the movie, so they ended up using footage of skating double Heidi Meissner doing a double axel and CGI tweaking it into a triple.

FYI The actress, Maddy Curley actually performed that vault. This was her acting debut, before which she was an elite gymnast at the University of North Carolina. She was 25 years old when this movie was released.

No pointed toes and it wasn't a double front vault, it was only two rotations. Double front vault has three rotations, one rotation off the horse, and two in the air.

She didn’t do a Produnova. She only did one somersault in the air after she rotated off the vault. A Produnova is one handspring rotation off the vault and two flips in the air, making it technically, three total rotations.

Yeah, that's why there's a lot of cuts in the editing. To make it seem like she did more than one rotation in the air. Remember, this was 2005, the only gymnast who has ever landed a Produnova at the time was Yelena Produnova herself and she retired back in 2000. It wasn't possible to get a body double who could do it.

I feel like all the extra cutting at the start of the vault (including showing the takeoff multiple times...why?) just confuses what they were trying to do. I feel like if they just showed approach, takeoff, "first flip", then cut to "second flip" and landing, it would've been a lot more clear what they were going for (even if savvy viewers would still be able to tell it wasn't a real double), but when every piece of the vault is shown multiple times, that just makes it *more* difficult to recognize that no, this one particular segment repeating is supposed to be two separate things.

Although she is an actual gymnast, she would not be able to do the vault shown here herself, as it is a Produnova vault (double front handspring) It is the hardest vault there is in women's gymnastics and there are only a few women in the world who have successfully done it. Unless they were prepared to get in Elena Produnova, Dipa Kamakar or Oksana Chusovitina as the stunt double. What they have done here is edit together several shots of a single front handspring to make it look like the Produnova.

My thinking why Maddy didn't do her own stunts is because if she gets hurt and can't continue, then they have to find another actor to replace her to finish the film AND reshoot (or delete) all the scenes she already did. And that's IF they could find another actor that looks like the stunt double...otherwise they have to find a new stunt double too.

Not only would Maddy not have been capable of doing a Produnova, if she had tried, she wouldn't just have gotten hurt, she could have very well been killed.
