Which would you choose between a fusion 3 year license or an alibre pro(mid tier) without the upgrade program? Excellent content! Alibre should pay you for marketing (as they barely do any)
I'm not all that experienced with fusion, so for me personally the lifetime license adds value and guarantees against the 'policy creep' that other platforms have. I've enjoyed Alibre Pro a lot!
Other than commercial support, is there a benefit to using Alibre vs Freecad? I know you've done past videos but as of Dec 2021, I'm not seeing any real benefits to switching.
I was actually going to make a video on it. It depends on how you use the software and what you model, but Alibre Atom can do some cool things. Variable radius fillets, generally more ability to use fillets, GDT support and a drawing environment a little more cut out for drafting standards, good topology naming with an assembly environment that has good in-context editing and is friendly to developing parts after they are assembled, the lofting has some great functionality like 'normal to profile' settings that make it easier to loft and have some lofting profiles that are quite difficult to replicate in FreeCAD. I think FreeCAD and Alibre make great companions and both are awesome!
