This is crazy, I literally remember this being crazily 3D and realistic, and now that I look at it its actually very pixally. Technology is advancing fast bro Edit: ppl keep telling me it's cos of the fact that ds screens are smaller and the pixels aren't as noticeable but I played it a few days ago and it's very pixelly

I really love how fluid the platforming in this is. It would’ve been really easy to screw up the 3D aspect, but they pulled it off wonderfully. Plus the level design is the best in years, the music is fantastic, and the Tanooki is just a total blast.

Only show 4 of the 9 available games (64, Sunshine, Galaxy and 3D world) - charge premium Breath of the wild money for it. You complete Mario 64 then Mario 64 DS becomes available. You complete Mario Sunshine you unlock some new Sunshine+ Bowser Fury type of game with the fludd thing, new levels inspired by later Mario Games perhaps, maybe just a 4-5 hours thing would be enough to enjoy. You complete Galaxy then Galaxy 2 is available, Complete 3D world, 3D land is available. Complete them all, Bowser Fury becomes available finally. All in glorious 1080p Widescreen 60 fps. No BS time limit of when you can buy the game. Everyone goes home happy. It would probably become the best sold game cart / download for Nintendo for a long time. Missed opportunity. I had hopes Galaxy 2 would be a special Christmas gift from Nintendo as DLC for All Stars. Also didn't happen.

Geez I remember seeing a commercial on tv when I was like 7 and when Christmas came around I begged my parents to please get me this game. On Christmas I open my presents and the last one happens to be a 3DS with this game and a couple other games. I was so happy and I remember playing this game every day and it took me 3 months to finally beat. Damn this video gave me nostalgia. Those were some good times
@gangman29 Yea I think my quickest was 3 days, but that was because I also played more of my Wii, XBox 360, and I played outside. But if I just sat there and played, I probably could've got at least 5 hours.
I remember absolutely loving this game as a kid, being happy and satisfied every time i played it. Especially dying in the levels just to get the White Tanooki leaf lol! Nowadays, this game is now one of my favorite mario games of all time! It's amazing, colourful and adorable for me!💖🍃🌟🌺⛅
It just amaze me how i can vividly remember every level in this game despite not playing it in years. The adorable pixelated setting, the catchy nostalgic music, the cute sounds Mario makes, everything ! Where i used to replay the levels because I need to find all stars that eventually was rlly hidden, it was really challenging back in the day because we are not exposed to walkthroughs and everything was just so new and pure enjoyable that you have to figure everything yourself. I also felt the urge to repeat a level when I accidentally don’t touch the tip of the flag because it bugs me that it isn’t yellow. HAHAHHAHA ! I even remember getting bummed out when I lost the Tanuki leaf, and would literally sacrificed my life just to get the white one if ever there was any. Gosh, the nostalgia is really kicking off strong. If only I could just bring back the life I have when I playing this game. Simple, relaxing, old times. No stress, just Super Mario 3D Land.
I don’t think people understand how impactful this game is, I played this around the age of 6 and I remember it being really really different and amazing I literally cried of nostalgia watching this video
I’ve been wanting to play this game again for over 7 years, and as 4/25/24, I have re-experienced this game. When I opened the menu, I got emotional very quickly. This game was here for me when my father wasn’t, this game gave me joy when my father never gave me anything. And the best part is: this game was never really that unique, it was just attached to so many of our childhoods that made a heavy impact unlike any other game. Thank you, Shigeru Miyamoto, for putting humanity back into our hearts.

I remember playing this game right after I got my 3DS XL in 2012. Honestly speaking I have TONS of good memories playing this for hours on end. All the work paid off seeing as how 3D Land is the only game I’ve managed to ever 100%
I remember my uncle introducing me to this game, and I just absolutely fell in love with it. I would play 3D land for countless hours and bring my 3DS everywhere. Whenever my mom had to go to work, she would drop me off at camp, and me and my friends would all play 3D land together. This has to be most nostalgic game in my entire life, out of all the Mario games I’ve played, 3D land will always hit different. I would do anything to relive these memories😔
I'm 40 but I still love Nintendo. Too many good memories dating back to the Snes. I bought a 3ds a few yrs back and played this game and loved every minute of it. Its better than Super mario odyssey in my opinion and one of the best mario games I've ever played.
@@applebeverage72 i'm 15. The Reason i'm saying this is "nostalgic" is because up until i was 10, life was good. I lost a very close loved one at 10, and still havent fully recovered from it. I consider life before 2015 to be "the good days..." Though it's only been 4 years, it feels like 20.
Man, I'm kinda sad the whole 3D trope of the 3Ds died out so quickly. Nintendo really did go above and beyond with this game. It doesn't look all that incredible on YT, but turning the 3D slider to max while you were playing on the 3DS made this feel incredibly different in the best ways possible. The camera angles were usually great, graphics looked really nice at the time, and the whole "3D" aspect really never went unused (e.g. those isometric optical illusion levels just to name one, when playing in 3D mode you could actually tell the depth of everything without using the camera buttons). Other little things like the coins UI popping out just slightly, those world cutscene letters from Bowser having different layers to them, literally EVERYTHING in this game uses the 3D screen to its fullest potential, literally some of my best memories of this game are BECAUSE of the 3D-ness that was brand new technology at the time... to say I adored it is an understatement. Just kinda sucks it didn't get the attention it deserved. I'd really like to see a modern console with modern hardware (maybe the next gen Switch) have some sort of 3D function.
Idk why people think the last level is hard, yeah it has a ton of challenge, but I beated it with mario and luigi and only died like 30 times and okay nvm I agree it's really hard

@@laynehart6860It's the worst nightmare bc every time i died at the part of the cliff for like 19 times, i managed to get that out but i accidentally got pounded by Bowser at the end, i had to forced to use the Plan B to use my phone and watch the final level, i managed to finish the whole level but i lost my Tanooki Form on accident. However, anything else is just okay. I didn't like the movement of Bowser being weird
This took me back to Mario 3. I was a kid and got Mario 3 as a Christmas gift when it was released. The same music in certain areas of the game really took me back to childhood
I remember 100%-ing this game, it took forever, but it was the very first video game I ever completed 100%. I still have that feeling of accomplishment and I take great pride in it.

This brings back so many memories. I got a 3DS for Christmas back in 2011, when I was almost 10. I played the hell out of this game and I remember being so ecstatic when I finally beat Bowser about 4 months later. Good times.

@gangman29 Yea I think my quickest was 3 days, but that was because I also played more of my Wii, XBox 360, and I played outside. But if I just sat there and played, I probably could've got at least 5 hours.
Underrated mario game ridiculously fun to play still holds up well 12 years later

It just amaze me how i can vividly remember every level in this game despite not playing it in years. The adorable pixelated setting, the catchy nostalgic music, the cute sounds Mario makes, everything ! Where i used to replay the levels because I need to find all stars that eventually was rlly hidden, it was really challenging back in the day because we are not exposed to walkthroughs and everything was just so new and pure enjoyable that you have to figure everything yourself. I also felt the urge to repeat a level when I accidentally don’t touch the tip of the flag because it bugs me that it isn’t yellow. HAHAHHAHA ! I even remember getting bummed out when I lost the Tanuki leaf, and would literally sacrificed my life just to get the white one if ever there was any. Gosh, the nostalgia is really kicking off strong. If only I could just bring back the life I have when I playing this game. Simple, relaxing, old times. No stress, just Super Mario 3D Land.

I’ve been wanting to play this game again for over 7 years, and as 4/25/24, I have re-experienced this game. When I opened the menu, I got emotional very quickly. This game was here for me when my father wasn’t, this game gave me joy when my father never gave me anything. And the best part is: this game was never really that unique, it was just attached to so many of our childhoods that made a heavy impact unlike any other game. Thank you, Shigeru Miyamoto, for putting humanity back into our hearts.
You can't imagine how much this videogame means to my life. I have enjoyed it in a way that I'll unlikely do with any other videogame. It will always be in my heart, take that for sure.

I remember playing this game right after I got my 3DS XL in 2012. Honestly speaking I have TONS of good memories playing this for hours on end. All the work paid off seeing as how 3D Land is the only game I’ve managed to ever 100%
I remember my uncle introducing me to this game, and I just absolutely fell in love with it. I would play 3D land for countless hours and bring my 3DS everywhere. Whenever my mom had to go to work, she would drop me off at camp, and me and my friends would all play 3D land together. This has to be most nostalgic game in my entire life, out of all the Mario games I’ve played, 3D land will always hit different. I would do anything to relive these memories😔
I'm 40 but I still love Nintendo. Too many good memories dating back to the Snes. I bought a 3ds a few yrs back and played this game and loved every minute of it. Its better than Super mario odyssey in my opinion and one of the best mario games I've ever played.
I feel like odyssey is better just due to the scale of the game. This game still rocks though.

@@applebeverage72 i'm 15. The Reason i'm saying this is "nostalgic" is because up until i was 10, life was good. I lost a very close loved one at 10, and still havent fully recovered from it. I consider life before 2015 to be "the good days..." Though it's only been 4 years, it feels like 20.

Man, I'm kinda sad the whole 3D trope of the 3Ds died out so quickly. Nintendo really did go above and beyond with this game. It doesn't look all that incredible on YT, but turning the 3D slider to max while you were playing on the 3DS made this feel incredibly different in the best ways possible. The camera angles were usually great, graphics looked really nice at the time, and the whole "3D" aspect really never went unused (e.g. those isometric optical illusion levels just to name one, when playing in 3D mode you could actually tell the depth of everything without using the camera buttons). Other little things like the coins UI popping out just slightly, those world cutscene letters from Bowser having different layers to them, literally EVERYTHING in this game uses the 3D screen to its fullest potential, literally some of my best memories of this game are BECAUSE of the 3D-ness that was brand new technology at the time... to say I adored it is an understatement.
Just kinda sucks it didn't get the attention it deserved. I'd really like to see a modern console with modern hardware (maybe the next gen Switch) have some sort of 3D function.

However, anything else is just okay. I didn't like the movement of Bowser being weird
This took me back to Mario 3. I was a kid and got Mario 3 as a Christmas gift when it was released. The same music in certain areas of the game really took me back to childhood
