@@musokid89 it was a very interesting journey to go from Sopranino saxophone, then, and from the great British company that sells them, a Soprillo saxophone, and then a duet straight with a bass Saxophone. The Soprillo is 3 octaves above a bass Saxophone, the alto saxophone is an octave and a half below a Soprillo.

I used to do a lot more Eb playing but haven't touched it for a long time. I just need to break in some decent reeds! 😂 I definitely feel more comfortable on Eb than on contra, just takes time to get used to it haha
@@musokid89 Your fingers looked like there were looking for a place to stand when not in use. 😬 I always wondered if the reputation of small clarinets to be difficult to play lays on the fact that the ergonomics are poor and not really the embouchure.
@@rashakor the ergonomics aren't poor but everything is definitely smaller on Eb. I see my right hand fingers flatten out a bit when not in use but it's definitely not uncomfortable.

the contras going great atm, just needed setting up properly. I caught up with my mate who has a straight Leblanc but we didn't film much of a comparison. I'm catching up with him again tomorrow though so we'll film a bit more stuff then. update video coming next week! 👍

now there's an embouchure change. I've gone Eb, to Bass Clarinet in 3 measures, but never this wide.
yea I have never gone that far either! I've done Bb to contra-alto a few times. This felt super weird to record back to back haha!

Do you think this instrument is worth it, obviously considering the proper setting up required by the repair person?
Yes, even with the cost of a proper setup, it's still tremendous value and a great instrument 👍
