Unreasonably Sane Fuck off. Babish barely, if ever, does cocktails. Same style, different content.
Unreasonably Sane I did admit the concept was stolen, however, the counterargument was that there is a lack of cocktail-based videos on Babish's channel
Unreasonably Sane Also, you needn't say that babish does cocktails, I was stating this was a fresh twist due to his exclusivity to cocktails
Unreasonably Sane "Who asked you to pitch in" is literally the worst comeback. I simply disagree with you and due to that I engaged you in debate. Once more, I must repeat that I agree that this is a direct copy of Babish's format, however, it is different content in that same format.
Cocktail Chemistry As a german I'm in shock about the beer cocktail.
Homer basically made some next level Lean
I want to like it but its sat at 69 likes this is difficult
@Bumble Snooters Nice Shizuha pfp
@Bumble Snooters Shizuha is the name of the character in your pic
@Bumble Snooters Ye
Nah he used children’s cough syrup that wouldn’t get you high
But it's Krusty's kid's cough syrup, he probably puts heroin or something there to "get them hooked".
Its Non-Narkotic tho
Yeah so maybe it’s 100 proof remember alcoholism can start early
I think you're correct on the "H". The bottle says "Non-Narkotic" not "Non-Narcotic"
Bob3519 and heroine was originally sold OTC as a cough suppressant made by Bayer.
No krusty not going to waste good heroin on kids! He probally just but some water in a bottle and added artifical flavoring
Lets make this cocktail better!
*makes a whole new cocktail*
Yeah where is the Skittles in the recreation
Fr none of the 2nd ones were anything close to the first just made sum random drink💀must’ve been drunk
To be fair, you weren’t able to see *every* ingredient in the Flaming Homer.
For all we know he could have put lighter fluid in.
@@ieuanhunt552 Honestly having watched enough of Homer's antics throughout the years...he probably has some diesel and some brake fluid in there among many other things.
@@TheDemocrab fun fact diesel doesn't actually catch fire from an open flame. Like a match or lighter. I fact you can dip a lit match in diesel and it will put the match out. (Warning: for the love of God don't try this just look it up on the Internet)
@@ieuanhunt552 that was actually part of the joke, cause homer's managed to set milk and cereal on fire.
@@TheDemocrab Homer is actually a pyromancer. Became one due to exposure to radiotioactive activity
the alcoholic version of binging with babish
pumpkin1escobar I was about to comment that XD
I thought so too
Lol that’s what I was thinking
Burpping with buddish
Yes, that IS the style he's blatantly aping.
I think you forget the Flaming Homer's real secret ingredient: love.
no i think the real secret ingredient is desperation
I thought if was the boys neck
No, the real ingredient are your sisters in law
Some might say, the secret ingredient... is salt
Love is highly flammable
I've made a Flaming Homer before with much experimentation, have to use Everclear to get the alcohol content up, has sloe gin too, burn it off in a stainless shaker, the fire can shatter the glass. The creators gave you plenty of anonymous liquors to play with, Boo for lack of creativity, wasn't created with the original intent in mind, desperation.
What was the specific recipe exactly? Tempted to try it.
I too want the recipe for this
Okay so Homer said every leftover alcohol. I say a seasoned alky like Homer must have Whisk(e)y, Rum, Vodka, Tequila, Schnapps, maybe even grain alcohol lying around. Plus triple sec, simple syrup, bitters, ect...
I like the experiment, just think it deserves a redo, esp with more flammable components.
Dont forget the quadrupedal sec
I think some wine to.
Who spells Whiskey without an e
@@SomeGuyandHisHerps Scottish people.
Maybe even a beer
Just notice homer invented purple drank
They didn't invent shit, the writers were taking lean/drank back in the day and made a whole episode about it
@@DanArnets1492 no they didn't, you're an idiot
"I bet we can do better"
*makes a completely unrelated drink*
ikr, like, give me the job and it'll go down way more nicely, and also, at least study cough syrup recipes if you ever try to make a drink meant to replace one that has it as an ingredient lulz
Binging With Nick?
I'm flattered by the comparison! Binging with Babish is the man
Please make a video with Babish! Mixing your drink-game with his food-game will be phenomenal entertainment
I'm game if he is
Shalom Jamie Halbert - buckle up, baby
Andrew Rea NO WAYYYY
Drinks
Goes blind
D'OH!
Happens to the best of us and totally worth it
The flaming homer needs a redo with way more leftover alcohols like he said
You missed 2 vital ingredients. I think one of those was red wine.
I'm sure one was wine and another was triple sec
Yo he sippin lean
True
No. No he's not. Lean is different kid😂
Ghrey Jones it’s a joke kid 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yea technically it’s lean
Nah that shit didn't even have dxm in it
When you're using HEFE Weizen you have to leave a bit of beer in the bottle. Than roll the bottle in between your hands and poor the rest of it in the glas. If you don't do this you won't get off the hefe from the ground of the bottle.
Greetings from Bavaria💙
Simon Konle tf is hefe
wokeil Hefe is yeast
also: tilting the glass is useless if you still pour the beer in the middle of it. The reason you tilt it is not for flavor, but to create less foam.
Prost!!
Überhaupt, wo bekommt man weizen in 0,33er flaschen?
The drink tasted terrible because you only used some of the ingredients. There was several other bottles up there.
That's correct Supernintendo Chalmers. I wanted to recreate the "official" recipe from the show, as printed on a novelty Flaming Moe's shaker.
True but when homer gave moe the idea he didnt mention exact ingredients. I feel that there had to have been more in those bottles. Perhaps a high proof rum or something to recreate the flame... Great. Now im obsessed with cracking the entire recipe. I remember back in the day a simpsons writer did an interview where that was brought up and the recipe was mentioned.
I am gonna try and track that review down and upload it to youtube.
Superintendent Chalmers some say chalmers is still searching to this day
@@joecommoner669 Hope he found out what he was looking for. So he could enjoy it with a few steamed hams. And enjoy the nice view of the Aurora Borealis from his kitchen.
;)
SKINNNEEERRRRRR
Turn the lights down, play smooth jazz and mix drinks using all the left over cheap stuff and it's like there is a party in my mouth and everyone is invited! I think I'll cal it a -flaming Moe- flaming chemistry!
Do the "Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster" from Doug Adams "Hitchhiker's Guide".
This is like binging with babish with slightly more alcohol
Oh, cool idea! I'd love to see you make a Snake Juice from Parks and Recreation.
kenagross seconded
kenagross thirded
Fourthed
Fifthed
I lost it at the final one.
I was like " _Oh god no, Don't._ " and then seeing the " _TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES_ " just XD
Turn on the subtitles. It says: Nick you Idiot. Why anyone would do that?
This reminds me of the drunk Q&A hahaha Your brand of humor next to the normal elegance/professionalism gets me every time hahahaha
I'm drunk watching UA-cam and as a solid fan of the Simpsons for 30 years ~ I am So STOKED that you made these.
I feel like you coulda done something with the last one by making like an aromatic cocktail and using a ume/maesil plum taken from a bottle of plum wine. I'm not like a trained bartender, but I think a mix of brandy, gin, fernnet branca, and some either rose or lavender bitters would give a nice 'perfume' though I'm not sure how well that would taste.
That is actually a great idea
When Homer invented the "purp drank"
Do more videos like this, i like when you're doing your own interpretations of the drink.
Thanks!
@@CocktailChemistry sometimes the flaming homer is called the flaming Moe
This is one of the best original UA-cam channels I have ever came across
That video was hilarious, especially the end. Please do more of them!
One thing I'd like to mention though: As a German I cannot approve pouring a Weizenbier into such a glass :D Please use a proper Weizenbierglas the next time ;)
My apologies!
Jawohl! xD (basically an exuberant way to say yes in German)
as a german craft beer snob I can say that snifters are perfectly adequate for any beer
I don't even drink, but you make cocktails sound so satisfying and so elegant. Really you won my sub.
“You’re punched in the face by this intense sweet minty flavor” O boy ever heard of Berliner Luft? It’s liked by youngsters and I don’t get why they drink the stuff without mixing it or chilling it straight from the bottle. There is no way to make it good. It’s basically a normal Creme de menthe but worse
Pfeeefffiiii :)
Berliner Luft? What kind of 'daddy's credit card' holding "youngers" do you serve that, not only know wtf that is, let alone would wanna mix it with their usual Vegas bombs n bud lights
Johnny Rocket nahh they just go to their local Späti with ten bucks and chug it. It’s literally what all teens did at somepoint: drink stuff they aren’t allowed to drink in a way that os absolutely repulsive.
@@50000870 Calm down man. It's not that expensive and cheap enough to just drink it straight
Actually, I think Berliner Luft has the smoothest mint flavour out of the most mint liquers
After the "how not to pour beer" moment you shouldve added the scene in Lisa's Pony epusode when Homer tells Moe to tilt the glass so there wont be so much foam on top lol great vid
What you did there with the beer ist very close to what we call "Russ" in germany. a Russ is an alternative way of makeing a "Radler" by useing "Hefeweizen" instead of a "Helles". But for the non alcoholic ingredient we use white lemonade (sprite) in both cases. Most of the time the ratio is 1 to 1. I personally prefer the Radler of the Russ because Weizen always tastes very rotten sweet and a bit like death.
I've had Russ, it's super refreshing
From The Simpsons Ireland episode: A shot of whiskey severed in a potato on top of a pint of Guinness
I don't even drink but I'm gonna subscribe anyways. It's interesting to see these drinks being made.
This series was one of the biggest inspirations in my interest in mixology, and now I'm a professional bartender! So, thanks for the content throughout the years, Nick ^_^
So you take an aviation, swap out the Luxardo for cointreau and set it on fire.
The Flaming Homer's alternate name is apparently the "Malaysia Airlines"
I don't know why but it makes me very happy that you called it a Flaming Homer and not a Flaming Moe.
0:40 My Grandfather used to make a "final drink" after parties. It was everything left of hard liquor bottles and any remnants from beer cans. I heard it was revolting.
That's great depression thinking there, my friend.
omg that was amzing i like how you balance the horrible drinks out with actual good ones, love the ending
"You landed on Aerosmith"
God bless you for that last portion. Seeing if you addressed this was my primary purpose of watching this one. Love the Simpsons.
I think that the principal element of the Flaming Homer has to be that the "fire makes it good".
I don’t know how this appeared in my feed, I don’t even drink, but your videos are amazing!
I thought this was a Cooking with Babish video
tty23 Same here. It feels like a rip off to me, haha.
ZeShirky not really. He was inspired by Andrew rea and is even a fan of his work. It's only a ripoff if it's cut from idea to idea
Yeah, the production style is too similar to be a coincidence imo. Still good content though.
Binging with Cocktail Chemistry
tty23 same
I personally don't like drinking but this channel is so entertaining! Thank you for making these videos for us! Much love
I loved how closely you followed the absurdity. Keep it up man
I just tried the German beer and ginger beer recipe and it was amazing. Thanks man!
I see what you did there. You practically made a flaming Aviation, for your own take on the Flaming Homer.
this is why i love you and binging with babish. if something ends up being shit. you make a good version of it
0:50 WHEN YOU FEELIN THAT LEAN
You did the perfume served in a man's hat. I believe they call it a Number 8. 😆😆😆
Do the drinks from danger5
hell yes. I need to know how to make a perfect chinese whisper
WatchDragon first person I've ever seen mention this show! Yes do this!
I'm sick and have been watching UA-cam nonstop and this is where I become
But... but ... why not the "forget me shot"?
Or "the Lawnmower"
Doh!
"Forget me shot" should be interesting, we get to test will you die from the butterfly poison, or will the pregnancy test show positive :P
He did drank a forget me shot, that's why he forget to add the forget me shot.
HORRIOR Also, the ingredients are hard to get, such as:
-Drop of Jaegermeister
-Triplesec
-Quadruplesec
-The RED part of Aquafresh
-Absolut Pickles(though, you can replicate it by soaking a pickle in Absolut Vodka for 24 hours, I think)
-And the hardest of all, the venom of the Louisiana Labotomorph.
Also, you need to stir it with a PREGNANCY TEST STICK till it shows positive. Not sure how that can be possible.
I googled to see if someone made this in real life and sure enough, here I am. I knew I could count on you, internet.
So your Flaming Homer contains no cough syrup, and your Skittlebrau contains no Skittles. What gives??
Max Warren he did put children’s cough syrup in it just not the real shit
Canadianbong Hoots86
nigga could make a good ass cup of lean tho
Best channel I've discovered recently, and I don't even enjoy drinking much at all. You have a great presentation voice!
You gotta do the “usual” from “dripalong daffy” from the looney tunes! Always wanted it
This channel is just Binging with Babbish for drinks... and I love it
Can you do some science fiction cocktails, either from Star Trek or Mass Effect?
Any specifics from Star Trek?
Romulan Ale, Klingon Martini, Slusho(?), Samaria Sunset, and maybe one you make up?
Romulan Ale, Klingon Martini, Slusho(?), Samaria Sunset, and maybe one you make up?
Ryncol! It'll put hair on your chest then immediately burn that hair off!
Welcome back to binging with cocktail chemistry
Do the Flanders planters punch from the episode called “War of the Simpsons”
As someone who's worked in multiple bars, the way you poured that beer initiated my fight or flight 😂
H O M E R ' S D R I N K I N L E A N
This guy is exactly like binging with babish but with cocktails and its amazing
How about Milk Plus from A Clockwork Orange!! Right Right Right!
2% fat milk laced with cocaine. And the juice of half a lime
This would sharpen you up and make you ready for a bit of the old ultra-violence.
PLEAAAAASEEE
Milk, goldschlagger and baileys, it's pretty damn good.
personally i would make this with 2oz Irish liqueur 1oz vodka and fill with whole milk shake well then top with about half an ounce cream.
I like that literally just putting Skittles into Budweiser made for a cocktail he enjoyed
You should try doing HP Butterbeer, it would be a neat lesson on butter/fat emulsification and hot drinks.
There's a bunch of recipes out there but the impression I always got from watching the movies was that it was a hot drink with a subtle sweetness with most of the richness coming from that rich buttery element (sort of like what you achieve from a proper latte or cappuccino).
Most people go with the cold "bottled" version and virtually all of them bank on making it as sugary as possible. Disgusting imo.
At no point are we told that it isn’t “as sugary as possible”
In fact one of the only things we know about it is that sugar is in there somewhere
So both the fans and universal decided that a lot of sugar was the way to go
I don’t see the problem
Hearing that the flaming homer isn't good is soul crushing.
very andrew rea feel to this channel
One of the possible explanation for the flaming homer is the DXM content in some cough sirups. Probably it wasn't the flame to make it better, but the effect that he was beginning to feel. Nice versions, anyway.
How about the "Laughing Swede" & "Screaming Viking" from the 80's show Cheers!
I was about to scream when I thought he was going to pour that Chanel perfume into the hat. Chance costs like $80 haha!
That last one had me fucking laughing, the subtitles made it even better 😂😂
It was amazing
This was awesome
Thanks!
"Beer with candy floating in it is gross so lets make something completely different"
oh hi babish
NyQuil. The small script bottle is Rumple analog. Needs a flaming float. Good call in thw 151 float for flame.
Activating the DXM is amazing!
Also, never make this drink, or drink it!
This looks very similar to Binging with Babish
I want a single plum floating in perfume served in a man’s hat.
I thought it said "In rod we rust" lol
You should make the drink that Ned Flanders mixed up at homers party. Great episode. "Three shots of rum, a jigger of bourbon, and bit of creme de cassis for flavor"
I gotta say it doesn't count without the cough syrup. that was a major plot point of the episode
I mean in his remade version of it, he skipped the cough syrup
He should have used Jägermeister as a sub for the cough syrup.
your version of the drink was actually an aviation cocktail called "Water Lilly"-scorpion bowl style as you filled a lime with rum and light it up.
you're basically Binging with Babish (cocktail mode)
Your version of the flaming homer got me drooling!
Collab with binging with babish
Ok fine, but only because you said so ua-cam.com/video/J6Z78zIGFD4/v-deo.html
"Let's make this drink better"
*makes a completely new drink*
Taking a page from Binging with Babish. I can get behind that.
First off, thanks for the awesome channel, Nick. Both for the care put into production and all the easy-to-follow-along content.
As for a suggestion.... For recreations, I'd love to see your rendition of 'The Simpsons' Forget-Me Shot, as well as some original mixes. ^^
You're like the cocktail version of Andrew Rae
YourToast lol. Thats what I was thinking
“Instead of that purple cough syrup, were going to use this creme de violette” makes sense
Can you and Binging with Babish do a collab?
If he's down, I am
tip of German Weizenenthusiast: leave some beer in the bottle and roll it between your hands, so everything, what is stuck at the bottom will be in the glass and turns your beer into a much more flavoured one
Why is the format so similar to Binging with Babish
You can't "make something better" by changing the recipe entirely.
That's just making a better drink.
You gotta remember, the cough syrup Homer uses is Krusty Brand, I wouldn't be surprised if Krusty used every loophole in the book to have his syrup classified as a cough syrup.
It probably has a higher concentration of alcohol than normal cough syrup.
Throw out liquor, drink the cough syrup and have a good time.
