Thanks for the useful info. you do great work on tank details. I am trying to get into the photo etching hobby in order to upgrade by Tiger 1. Thanks for sharing.
Hey again. What would I need to put a charge put near the drivers hatch so i never have to open the tank up to charge as it does not explain in this video. Thank you
+briintel The cable is fabricated by myself, it is a drop in installation and requires no soldering or any other work. Simply disconnect the batter from the tank's jack, connect the tank and the battery to the new extension cord and you are complete. I have made several for customers who added the cable to their tanks. For pricing info contact me from the following email address info@eastcoastarmory.com .Thanks
Yes, but you still need to replace the speed controllers as the radio / speed controllers are connected to the same circuit board. You can also replace these electronics with the new generation ones from hen long or taigen
Since I made this video I tooled up a large range of 1/16th scale tank detail parts, they all can be found on the link below. eastcoastarmory.com/sherman_16.htm
A co-worker of mine told me the 1/16 scale tanks aren't worth getting as an adult. He said I'd be disappointed and to get a 1/6 kit instead. I have no idea if this is true but I do like the small ones. I tried to look up 1/6 rc tanks but I can't find anything.
that statement is mostly false. there are lower end tanks on the market that this can apply to, but that is not the case. If you look on this channel you will see several 1/16 builds from the various companies who produce models. All have been turned into excellent models with minor effort.
if you are looking for something in 1/6 RC your best bet is armortek, however you will need a machine shop to build and they cost several thousand dollars per kit
@23:36 you mention "Henglong" instead of TAIGEN, I don't blame you for that mistake tho, your reviews are alway detailed and precise. So i will let that slide lol.
John de zwart No, the tanks with the lights on over the front mudflap were the tanks sent to N. Africa, even the initial production tanks that were sent to lenningrad had the lights on the upper deck
Austin Ray The M41 is a tough one to fix up as the tank is not true to 1/16 scale. To cut corners Heng long designed the tank to use parts from the Pershing, because of this the portions of the tank are not to scale. As for details you can add new antenna bases, possibly periscope guards and give it a better paint job, but the tank will still have dimensional errors
+oddball759mm well no battery no battery cover and it's hasn't run in 7 years and I don't know what else to do with it and I needed it a new tank any ways and all its is caching dust in my closet it's no use to me well I can use it for parts or a target for AR-15
model master German Uniform grey for the base, Tamiya Dark Yellow for the cammo, and Model Master Scwartzgrau or tamiya German grey for the edging. All is done with an airbrush

Is it possible to put in a receiver from a different manufacturer, for example Spektrum, and then use a Spektrum radio?

Other than Taigen what are some sites for detail parts? Great video!! Thanks.

Nice camo!
Like to see Tiger tanks with more weathering and battle damage.
I don't... your going to need to look elsewhere
Is the suspension real torsion bars?
I think it is on this one from what I can remember.

OK well one more for the scrap yard I'll just get a new tiger tank
The M41 isn't trash... they are fun to drive and to mess around / battle with, but just are not a good platform to super detail

The battery is easy to find / replace, and the cover can probably be found on Imex's website.
may I ask what paints you've used? Many thanks
My paints on this model here are my own mix and can't be found in a store.
oddball759mm but what shades would you recommend for similar effects?
model master German Uniform grey for the base, Tamiya Dark Yellow for the cammo, and Model Master Scwartzgrau or tamiya German grey for the edging. All is done with an airbrush
...AUSGEZEICHNET!!!!!
What a shame! Handle with care Mr postman!
why are you always wearing gloves when you do your videos
Because I don't like to touch the finished models with my bare hands. esp. one built for a customer
