Your detailing is second to none. I learn more about tank details from your video's, than i do from watching documentries. Excellent work. Cheers oddball.
This is exactly why I love watching your vids, man. If I'd bought the tank, I'd be like, "Yay, let's go play!". But if someone had asked me, "Bro, is that historically accurate?", I'd be, "Uh.... pass?"
That is a fantastic model and video. Thank you so much. I have a stock Taigen late Tiger myself that I want to modify as one of my future projects. Your version really helps a lot. On your particular tank, the camo seems to work nicely. In a few spots in you garden the tank practically disappears.
When you do decals it is best to first put down a base of gloss varnish then the decal then some decal shrink fluid and then a coat of matt varnish. Then you get no shiny flash like on the storage bin on this model. A coat of matt varnish overall also unifies the airbrush camo layers. Great model well done.
I have a question for you! The deflector ring under the tiger tower, did you build it yourself, or is it a part because I will soon have this tiger myself! .
The armored collar ring was a part I produce and is not supplied with the kit. These along with all the other parts I mention in this video are found on the catalog here, eastcoastarmory.com/sherman_16.htm
im pretty sure that some taigen tigers have a plug in the rear of the tank, where the cold start unit is. you just plug a headphone jack type charger and you can charge the battery like that. no need for prying the charging cord out a hatch with pliers.
John, I don't know if you have replaced your Smoker unit yet but if not, have you heard of the TARR brand of smoker? I had always been a big fan of the HL\Taigen type plunger actuated smoker unit yet invariably, as soon as I went to brag on one of the units, it would fail in some fashion *laughs* The TARR units are almost bullet proof and recommended for long term use. You have done an excellent job on this Tiger and it should provide the desired 57 tons of fun for years to come. ;o)
No wonder I was thinking I've seen this built before???? I wonder where. The 1/6 version. Its a great upgrade to it's original state it was in. I wanted to ask how you created the wells? and do you have a vid on that, they look so real. great job.
No I don't have a tutorial on the welds. The material I use is an industrial epoxy and requires a special skill set to use. Most people use a 2 part epoxy like Miliput or Aves epoxy sculpt and I've seen good results with both.
its very detailed welding. as for the sound card I up graded mine with that of the Beier sound module USM-HL-2. it works great and I can even control 2 servos, leds, and sound. highly recommended. going to give the miliput a try see how it comes out. thanks for sharing.
If anyone wants to upgrade the late production Tiger I turret, go to the link below, the same turret can also mounted on a Taigen Mid Production Tiger I and modified just like Oddball's Tiger I turret. www.taigentanks.com/taigen-tank-parts/tag120701
Depends on what your looking for / price and scale. The following are good for 1/16 Tamiya Taigen Mato HL These are good for 1/6 Armortek Bigtanks Metalbox

They do have a hole in the rear, but it's unsightly and hurts the look of the model. I always delete this hole on my builds

oddball759mm nice thanks, this video made me what to build one. Great videos well enjoyed them.
oddball759mm as well what colour paint did you use? As I like this colour scheme
The paints are my own mix and are not found in stores. As for a close tint Tamiya Dark yellow, Olive green, and Red Brown are good choices.
oddball759mm cool. It's hard to find a kit that is worth buying any tips on before purchasing?
A great video you know your tanks I take it that you prefer the tiger1over the king tiger in appearance
Actually you would be wrong, as I'm a die hard Sherman guy
@@oddball759mm im new actually looking around to purchase my first ever tank 1:16 I like the 2 German type tanks carn't make it my mind 😁
@@craigrowe8003 then get both! :D
