Always watched Who Framed Roger Rabbit when I was a kid. The toons are amazing, but it's always Bob Hoskins who I've always looked up. Eddie Valiant is the hero to us 80s & 90s kids, in spite of his flaws but we always cheer him when he stood by Roger Rabbit's side or took on Judge Doom and his Weasels.

I was lucky enough to have met Bob Hoskins when he came to Secaucus, New Jersey to promote this film. Twenty Four Seven was being shown as part of a NJ film series. When they showed this film, Bob Hoskins was the special guest. It was probably within a a day or 2 of Bob Hoskins being on Conan or it could have been the same day. He was super nice to everyone in the audience. I got his autograph and I actually got to shake his hand. It was funny that when he walked out of the movie into the main lobby and was walking towards the exit, people who were coming into the lobby would do double takes when they saw him. They were coming to see a movie and they did not expect to see an actual movie star walking by. It was amazing watching this film and then as soon as it finished, they introduced Bob Hoskins who came down the side aisle to the front. Bob Hoskins was even nicer in person then when you see him in the movies. Just a nice, regular guy who happened to be an extremely talented actor. Rest in peace Mr. Hoskins. His daughter wrote a very nice book about her father.

Reminds me of days when i would turn up for shift and if they didnt need me. They would pay me half a days wages just for turning up and send me home. You wont get that kind of appreciation from employers these days.

There’s no such thing as a “British” accent. Bob had an English accent, or more accurately a London accent. If you were to travel for 30-60 minutes from London in any direction, the accent will be noticeably different. England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are all British countries, but they don’t have the same accent.
