- Owerri is the capital city of Imo State in Nigeria, set in the heart of Igboland.It is also the state's largest city, followed by Orlu, Okigwe and Ohaji/Egbema. Owerri consists of three Local Government Areas including Owerri Municipal, Owerri North and Owerri West, it has an estimated population of about 1,401,873 as of 2016 and is approximately 100 square kilometres (40 sq mi) in area. Owerri is bordered by the Otamiri River to the east and the Nworie River to the south.The Owerri Slogan is Heartland.

Uyo has done remarkably well with their roads too, the government should also invest in beach front infrastructure. A lot of us in the region will like to have a beach that can compete with the likes in Lagos.

@@pauledwin4487 The pillars carries fancy crossroad street lights(more like decoration), but new administrations removed most of them.. you can still see some remains of it in the video.

Owerri roads are disgraceful. It calls for concern about leadership. What is the need building roads without trees by the side? I now know why respiratory and lungs problems are prevalent. How can roads be built in the 21st century in our city, Owerri without a single tree. It's a shame. It's a display of ignorance of leadership. Building a road is not just ashphalting.
