- Опубліковано 30 чер 2024
- When I first visited my local Chess academy in Cuba, my friend FM Michel Coto was already a strong player. He used to play me with time odds of 1 minute for him vs 5 minutes for me and he would still beat me.He has been out for a while and this is my chance to give him a hard time:) Hope you find some value in these games!

Your friend is a very strong player, made us all suffer this time around! Looking forward for the re-match :)
Absolutely! 💪😎
Rob I love the humour. Also I felt the friendship on the handshakes
Can't wait to get your White openings course. I have so much fun with your counterblow course😊
Great video. Two good friends just playing chess. Loved the format and angles.
Don’t change anything, other than a win for you coach 😄😄
Richardddd!! I tried to stay away from eating his pawns 😅
This was a great format and great games.
Good game!💪🔥
u and ur best friend are so nice together pls make more videos :)
The most difficult part of chess is remaining indifferent to your loss.
Old habits never die, they just hibernate.
I enjoyed it👏😊
Thank you for sharing this session with us.
I was hyper-competitive as a youth - always wanted to win and shied away from strong competition. That was decades ago, and I didn't play much chess except the odd game here or there - which I always lost.
I discovered NM Ramirez a few years ago - wanting to improve after a roommate coaxed me back into the game. Hell, I didn't even know how to castle - and didn't want to because the youth in me likened it to hiding. I still don't castle immediately - but that's my game if you would call it that
I saw two friends playing each other here - each striving to win but with no tension or animosity or fear. Two intelligent individuals at a board enjoying each other's company. I never knew Chess like that. It was always a test of wills and intelligence that I avoided for decades.
I haven't commented on the openings I didn't recognize, or the tactics I didn't perceive, or the clock management. I like boards with notation glyphs on the edges - but I've come to follow a bit slowly. Besides, I liked the board. I'm rambling.
Brother Robert, I'll check out your friend's channel. I admire how open and generous you are - not just in this case, but with all guests. You're not trying to protect your turf - and it's points like this that remind me that I chose the best coach for me. Thank you.
Yes, life is simpler and more rewarding like this (at least for me). Once we know who we are and why we do things, nothing else matters 😎💪
ggs maestro! also nice chess set!
Thank you! 😎💪
Have used your Pirc Def ,with good results ,I'm rated 823 now ,so my notes worked
Been reading Tal book also
The push-up test in the background of the third game made me chuckle

Playing you Over the Board in Miami means so much!
Dreams come true!
By the way, I have perfect score vs Bird Opening 😜
Good show
🙌💪😎
Yo predije el 95% de las jugadas que hizo el blanco. Jugó muy bien, pero echó a perder todo en el final. De todas formas, buen juego!! 👍
How much for chess lessons?
great games :). i'll be back soon once i'm done with the exams and then you know it's gonna be a 24-hour chess party
Let's goooo!!! 😎😅💪
Modern and pirc defense is same?
Same family! 😎
Hit the clock so hard that is not very polite
True! Gotta work on that. Just trying to intimidate an old friend 😅
Gg😊
is he NM too?
He is a strong FM with 2 IM norms. He just hasn't been competing for years now.
Robert, are you Dominican? I would like you to come to the Dominican Republic so we can play a few games.
Hello! Cuban, but I visited Santo Domingo years ago and had a great time. Definitely going back 😎
Gg👍
Why your best friend is wearing a rucksack? Can't part with something valuable?
Growing up in Cuba does that to you. It takes some time to get over that trauma 😅
Watched it all. I think you were a bit slack this time. No concentration at all. You could win the last one for sure. Good format anyway
Yes, I wanted to welcome him to the channel. Otherwise he wouldn't repeat. Always great to see you here Vasyllllllll! 😎💪
What’s the deal with that final game… I mean you appeared to resign after your friend blocks check with …Bc7 you can just play Bxc7+! Winning! Black can’t recapture with the queen because his rook on e8 falls with check and if he plays …kc8 you play Bd6 discovered check game over. Were you psyched out here?…. Oh I think I see.. you fell on time right?
Hello! Yes, I lost on time 🤪 I could have done anything, but I didn't lol
