If you do decide to bimble to Hampshire, you can actually travel on the Hovertravel hovercraft service between Southsea and Ryde on the Isle of Wight. It started in 1965 and is still running. It takes about 10mins.
Lovely stuff Kieran. I have to say that Jesus' mum's church featured here is my favourite of all those I've seen in your videos so far; the snazzy roof, peculiar bell tower, and crazy paving exterior (is it built of randomly shaped rocks or is that fancy stone facing?) make it a gem. Cheers 👍🏼
This Bimbler loves a hovercraft :-) Just introduced your channel to my step-dad (a proper retired docker from Liverpool). I'm confident he'll love your videos.... Tony
Good video mate was up in Towyn in April had a nice few rides along the coast to Rhyl Prestatyn Penzarn and Liandullas where there's a long old disused pier
Did a cross Channel hovercraft in the early 80's in quite rough water, my mate was as sick as a dog. They finished in 2000. I think the only commercial one left is to the Isle of Wight.
It's not a massively long cycle from Chester to Rhyl but the A548 is fast just after the bridge towards Flint. Holywell is a nice route northwards. Giles Gilbert Scott also designed Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral.
my dad use to run us to rhyl from wigan in about an hour when i was young lad, remmember a place next door to it called prystatin ...broke my arm on a swing and spent a week at the hospital.......1986
Lidl trainers FTW. I’ve seen you in our local Lidl a couple of times, but haven’t bothered you as you’re a local celebrity entitled to shop for trainers in peace!
Hi Kieran, Dave here, I met you at Chester Station on Sunday last 16.06.24 with my friend Alan without sight. all three of us along the rest of the "sardines in a can" on the Bangor train. We got off at Rhyl, and so did you ...I always wanted to have a good conversation with you, yet I was leading (if you know what I mean) ... carry on what you do, as its "Top Bandanna" ... All The Best Dave and Alan.
Nice one Kieran. Didn't know there was so many lovely churches there. :-) Enjoyed it. (BTW, as you have discovered, never travel on the trains on a Sunday, what with engineering works, crew shortages and overcrowding, it's just not worth it, sadly.) (Al Kennett)
Lovely bimble, Kieran. Done a similar one myself, last year. Train to Colwyn Bay and rode back to West Kirby and got the train home from there. I've still not recovered. 😂
I went to North Wales in the mid 80s, with my husband and 3 young children. We went into a store to buy food for our evening meal. After my husband had left, and I was just about to leave, the female shopkeeper said to her assistant " These rich English, coming here with their money, buying, so locals cant". I glared at her and thought to myself "i hope you go out of business". We went back to our camp, and decided "Never again". Not been back since, and by the way, we weren't rich, just needed food and couldn't afford eating out.
As a child I loved Ryle but it’s all changed in 2024 , shame really, great videos love um , gorgeous buildings, thank u ❤

Lovely churches Kieran, great Bimble. Best Wishes Pete
Hovercraft museum, I didn't know that. Think I'll look into that and have a drive down from depressing St Helens 😊
Lots of childhood memories of Towyn and Rhyl holidays growing up in the 70s 😊
Happy memories of the Black Cat😊

I love that north Wales coast. Prestatyn to Conwy is my favourite ride. :)
Travel with a bike at weekends is a nightmare pal.
Rhyl the van driver nightmare of a town never any parking spaces usually taken up by blue badge holders who sud be in the disabled bays😢😢

You should never let one persons shallow comments affect you. Go back to Rhyl & replace that negative memory with a happy one 😎
Rhyl is a dump been in managed decline for years
We visited Rhyl a couple of years ago & was surprised how nice it is now in comparison to the dump it was in early 2000’s.
Good one.tks
