Dick Button's comment's that he came in 10th last year, and a way long more to go....he spoke too soon. Stephane won the Gold the following year (2005 and 2006,World, and silver medalist, on 2006 Olympics. He is one of the best figure skaters. He is SUPERB.
I don't think it's fair to say Dick Button never has anything positive to day. He is critical but he simply pointed out that a couple of Stephane's landings were a little off and his footwork wasn't great, which are fair critiques. But he was gushing over the jumps Stephane did well, the performance quality and the spins. He gave props were they were due because this was his best performance to date. He should have at least won bronze, IMHO.
I think Dick Button meant that Stephane needed to make his triple axel and quad-triple combo in order to get an edge on Johnny Weir. Stephane has always had issues with his triple axel and he had missed his quad in the short, so it was important for him for those jumps to be solid in the long in order to move up.
I think it is one of his better program ifit is not the best and I think too he would have been 3rd. But it was in Germany and his results were very near from Stephan Lindeman's who is german so...but since this year, his wonderful skating have been "reknowed" (? sooy I'm french...)
Stefan Lindemann's 4t-3t in the SP was astounding. He didn't do it perfectly in the LP but then neither did Lambiel. Lindemann actually deserved 2nd place at these Championships. You should be arguing about whether Lambiel deserved Bronze over Joubert. IMO, he didn't. The mistake in the SP was too costly . This program honestly wasn't THAT much stronger than Joubert's.
i really don't like this music and seeing him now, his movements are like a sketch of his flamenco. what a evolution (and his spins are now better too) except 4 jumps. where's your flame stephaneeeee!!!!! find it soon please.

This competition was the first I ever saw or heard of him. Became an instant fan.
same!
Stephane
Tres belle.
Merci
Браво ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The best program to never medal at a worlds IMHO
Stéphane is amazing!
So this is when I fell in love with him and I was so pissed off he didn't get on the podium
And What a good music choice!
He is awesome!
I really like this free skate from Stéphane...to bad he did not medal...he deserved one...
He was never ment for competitive on ice. He is amazi g I. Art I. Ice 🥰
Great performance,
This was a VERY strong year for Worlds. Plushenko, Joubert, Lindemann, Lambiel, and Weir all deserved medals.
"He's from Switzerland!".....WE KNOW.
I guess we all know who's better now...
His triple toes are amazing! Ha.

Bad camera work, noisy commentators. Just show me Stephane ‘s artistic skating 😤
Now after 20 years I got the commentary that Stephane of course can spin BECAUSE HE IS from SWITZERLAND 😂😂😂

Brilliant artistry and spins, big jumps but the landings were not great
LOL at the commentators praising his centering when he spent the 2nd half of his spin travelling to Switzerland and back.
Why does the commentator say in the beginning: he has been a less consistent skater than Weir, he must make these opening moves?

The comments from the journalist were awful 😅
Stefan Lindemann was injured a long timte and this season he needed surgery so Lambiel has to be better an he realy is much better than the german

Apparently jumps are not his strength...
