These shorts were taken from "This is Spinal Tap: 25th anniversary edition", DVD2, title "The Return of Spinal Tap" (which is actually a recording from a live concert).
Buy the DVD, it's awesome. But don't touch it, and leave the tagger on it. Don't point even! And never think about looking at it, you've seen enough!
This film, despite the jokes, does an unironically beautiful portrayal of life long friendship.

David teaching football, Nigel making stuff in his garage in England, plus the constant changes in drummers ... now I'm convinced that Spinal Tap was based on the first Jeff Beck Group.
Their English accents are really convincing, but it's their mastering the essence of Englishness that's so impressive. Derek Smalls travelling around in his dad's Maestro van. Perfect.
Yeah, Derek Smalls going back to Nilford to reevaluate his prospects…so his father takes him out on his “Sani Phone”route to go door to door to clean and sanitize phones. Then Derek realizes that everyone can go to the nearest store to buy paper towels and blue cleaning solution to sanitize their own phones. FUNNY, AND THE FACT THEY ALL DID THIS ON THE FLY, NO WRITTEN SCRIPTS.

I'm just so happy for all the lads that everything worked out quite lovely for everyone involved in the making of this wonderful piece... I must say I am so happy for Marty and his practical office and the fact that Lt. Hookstratten wasn't injured by the bullet that missed his head by a matter of an inch and the fact he wasn't hurt by the firebomb that was placed underneath his automobile.
I thought for sure at the beginning he was going to say "Hold on, we lived on a different street. This isn't our house!"

Hard to tell with these places. One of my childhood homes is like that. I looked it up on Google Street View, and it's hard to tell one from another after forty years.

Won free tickets to see Spinal Tap from some goofy AM radio station back in the late 70's or early 80's while I was living in Cincinnati.
They were on a triple bill with another English band call Scum of the Earth and a touring puppet show.
The puppets were awesome.

Michael McKean was brilliant in better call Saul. I didn't realise it was David St Hubbins at first.
That realisation was quite fantastic to me! I couldn't believe it at first. He is a great actor.
Spinal Tap is one of the greatest comedy movies of all time. I'm not one of those who actually thought it was a genuine documentary about a real band. However, as a Brit, I was astounded when I eventually found out that these were American actors. The Brit accents are so authentic, and I've watched a lot of American movies where far more esteemed actors than these guys make a mess of a Brit accent.
One of the worst ever is probably Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins, although I'm not sure how serious that was meant to be. Kevin Costner in Robin Hood though, wtf is that all about? The best Scottish accents I've heard from an American actor (I'm from Scotland) would be Mike Myers, in So I Married An Axe Murderer and the Shrek movies. And before anyone calls me out, I know Mike is Canadian, but he's still an American, as Canada is part of North America. Just like I'm Scottish, but I'm also British as Scotland is part of Great Britain.

You need just the right amount of compression on the speaker cone, otherwise it just won’t work. 😂

That's Coldharbour where they're being filmed. On the Isle of Dogs, London. The old East End! The Gun Pub is still there. Just a bit more trendy now.
Amazed it's still there. The old pub buildings have character (although some of them were dives during their heyday). A lot of that terraced housing has been flattened too. I've mixed feelings about that since they got replaced by worse in some cases.
