  • New Beginnings The Story of Page, Arizona is a film production that was produced by Jerry Jones and directed by David M. Strang. The film explores the making of the town of Page, Arizona. At the time Page was the temporary home of the construction workers of the Glen Canyon Dam. The workers who settled Page brought their families with them which created a unique community unlike the surrounding Mormon and Navajo settlements.
    Many iconic people of Page’s past appeared in the production of this film. They loaned their photos and film to illustrate what life was like in Page, Arizona during the late 1950s and early 1960s.
    This film also shows clips of the classic TV show Route 66 by Columbia Pictures Television, The Greatest Story Ever Told by MGM / United Artists and a large portion of 16mm film courtesy of the United States Bureau of Reclamation.
    This documentary is dedicated to the men, women and children who settled this country’s last frontier.
    This was a production of the Salt River Project and the Navajo Generating Station 1988.
