Until agricultural-based civilization ceases to exist, the steady destruction to the landscape, the atmosphere and the world's oceans will continue. That is just a fact. 10,000 years ago, horticulture then agriculture emerged as a survival strategy in the Levant Region of the Near East - villages became towns then cities and the social structure evolved by our species over 200,000 years changed dramatically and irrevocably. Of course, damming wild rivers is a tragedy but so is slavery and organized warfare and wholesale destruction of other species and desertification and massive human overpopulation and pollution and even genocide .... all products of agriculture-based civilizations. No amount of protests or sabotage is going to halt agricultural-based civilization. It will continue to spread like a malignant cancer cell until it covers the entire planet.
