100% agree. You tell him players are under 2000, average of 1600 and he plays accordingly, but two of them are just playing moves coached to them by a 2200. That's a trap. He even said if he knew it that would be fine, and the guy could even play two games, but it was not okay that they didn't give him correct information (which is standard information of the game in almost every game that isn't played in a park or a bar).
I think it is pretty scummy to load up with a really strong player and then not point them out like they should at least have pointed him out they don't have to tell him his rating or anything but they should have told him that he's their strongest player So he had a little more time to focus on that game specifically
I agree that if that was the deal beforehand, they have to abide by the deal. But don't behave like a child in front of the players. Just don't work with the guys setting up the simul again

I think the difference is that in online chess you know that the elo can be succeptible to the rating algorithm, for example because of too little games. But if you ask on an event who is the strongest and then people get coached (not sure if that is actually true) i feel like that is actually decieving somebody else and thats a bit against the spirit of having full information to both parties

i feel like it would be really easy to cheat in those simuls where you have alternating colors. for example, if you were white, the previous board would have Hikaru at white, so you just play his move. then Hikaru will respond to his own move, and the player on the previous board (with black) could just play Hikaru's response to every move, creating a never-ending cycle where Hikaru has to play against himself it would work at least for a few moves until Hikaru notices that he's playing against himself and says something

About the Kasparov games, it was written that they were assisted by a high level coach, so maybe that's why the games were disquiet..
