This was the video I've been waiting for. Excellent video
Thank you. So glad it helps.
Speedify sounds like a great solution. If they would create a network appliance that supported my entire network and not just a computer, I'd be all over it.
Or an installable snap on in a router OS like PFsense etc.
Raspberry Pi?
@@sunnydavies3990 I imagine the RPi lacks sufficient horsepower to accomplish that task, especially at Gb speeds.
@@lennygemar1021 I'm actually looking into this exact solution, I think if you use the ethernet on the pi as a source of Internet
Then get 2 usb ethernet adapters into the usb 3.0 ports, tell the pi to use one of those as a lan and you can achieve gigabit speeds
The new raspberry pi 5 has dual 5gbps usb 3.0 ports, though if you had more than two 1 gbps connections then yeah it's not going to cut it
Been looking forward to this video.
As you know. I've had Speedify for a few weeks now.
I'm from Australia. Started out great. But I've since been having some issues with the servers here in Australia.
The nearest server to me is apx 1000km away at Sydney.
I ran some tests yesterday and I could not find a server that was reliable.
I would try manually selecting the server use you and try to select one that is as close as possible to the POP that your Starlink is "connecting" with. Mine is in Atlanta, Georgia so I get the best pings when using a server there even though I'm located in Florida.
@JCristina I tried all that. Just did another series of tests now setting both my Starlink and Telstra 5G to primary and ran an upload test. It's only good enough for 480p streaming. Which I think had been the reason why my sony camera would only upload t I youtube at 480p
Yet. Without speedify on. I'm getting Starlink speedtests of 250 down and 13 up. My 5G is getting 350 down and 10 up.
@JCristina it did work 2 weeks ago. When I did a 1 and a half hour live stream, uploading at 1080p at 60 frames per second. But that's the only time it worked. I don't know why it will not work now for me.
I'm finding Speedify a bit of a hit or a miss for us in Australia.
I think it's a server issue.
Good video and informative now T-Mobile home internet is available in my area and going to try ubiquiti UDM Pro built in LB. If it doesn’t work I’m going to try your setup. Once more Thanks Joseph!!!! 👏👏
Thank you.
So the primary, primary setting was a big one for me to learn. I had to learn the hard way when I had DSL as secondary and was still dropping calls.
You are my goto source for everything Starlink! I am about to go buy a used gen 2 and was researching how to bond it and my really slow and horrible DSL and I was crossing my fingers you did a video on Speedify. One question please. So I have two mesh systems, 2 of the latest Asus mesh routers and 2 of Amazon's eero mesh routers. Would it make sense to use one for the DSL and the other (via the ethernet adapter) with the Starlink router and bond them both?
Got Starlink about 2 months ago, and just now found your channel - so informative, and so helpful! Kudos to you for insisting on including the why, as well as the how.
Quick question on Speedify. I'm a computer programmer working remotely in my RV - we're full-time RV'ers. To connect to headquarters and do my work, I have to use the corporate setup, using OpenVPN and an RDP connection.
I'm interested in Speedify to increase speed and reliability of my connection. I have Starlink, Verzion MiFi hotspot, and a Moxee hotspot from FMCA that runs off of AT&T. Combining all 3 for more speed sounds like a great deal, as currently I rarely use the other 2, just keep them for redundancy, as I HAVE to have a connection for work.
Would using Speedify mean I would have 2 overlaying VPN's, that might negate any speed benefit? I'm interested in it more for the speed than for the VPN.
Again, thanks for the great information presented in such an understandable way. Keep up the good work!
Blessings,
Sean
Speedify will help bonding two ISPs into one so you get faster and a more reliably connection. Thanks for being here.
Sounds like what I have been looking for.
I run an ecommerace business and need for the folks packing orders have internet access so they can do their job. Primary we use Comcast, but I bought a Verizon internet cube as a back up when Comcast goes down. Seems to hard for the people to change the WiFi connection to the Verizon source when needed. This could make that automatic.
Can it use multiple WiFi sources and use them in parallel like you described so it would be seamless if one fails or does one have to be through the Ethernet connection?
Starlink is perfect fast for us here in Europe and really Starlink works alway,s😊
Awesome!!!!!
Hello, I have tested speedify on a PC with windows 10 with internet access through an edgerouter with loadbalancing mode with two starlink, obtaining more stability in games like world of tanks and fortnite as well as in banking applications, browsing and watching movies on primevideo among others , but there is no improvement in speed, only in stability since speedefy only detects an internet service and it is the esdgerouter who balances the packets sent by speedify for both starlink connections. a curious result since it works better than the sticky function of the edgerouter
Will using Speedify with just starlink as both Verizon and T-Mobile are currently unaviallable in my area give me any benifit such as speed increase ans stability?
*getting connection into computer* -- May you please give us device recommendations for those of us that have Laptops which don’t have Ethernet ports, (only USB A, USB C, 3.5mm jack). Would possibly give speedify a go , if I can get a device to rid those huge drops outs during game streaming.
Is Speedify helpful if I only have Starlink Ethernet connection? I have been considering adding T-Mobile ... still debating. I need absolute failsafe internet 24 hours a day for investment data uninterrupted. Thanks Joseph. You are hands down the best source of information ... the WHY ... love it!🤙
Yea. It does help with stability and security as it is a VPN also
Hi and big congratulations for This about speedify……we want more of that…..what is your setup using speedify?….I need it for feeding my streaming boxes that go to my TV…..I know I could use an old PC to run speedify but how would I then feed my streaming boxes from the PC?
Regards….Henri
We will work on something. Hang in there.
I didn't see it in the video info, could you post the piece of hardware you mentioned that would help you get the multiple internet sources into the computer. Thank you, and great video as always.
I use JCristina.com/speed
Thanks for the invaluable information. How do you physically connect the two or more internet services to your devices?
Ethernet (Starlink) and WiFi (T-Mobile) currently.
You can the Ethernet port if you have one and the built in WiFi card to start, then you can add an Ethernet dongle, USB WiFi adapters, USB tether, and even Bluetooth.
I connected USB network adapter to my phone, so I can use LAN cable (USB-C to USB-A adapter > USB-A lan network adapter and the phone & speedify recognised it) With that solution I tested cellular + WiFi + LAN on my phone and bond them wit Speedify... AND: if you are connected to the same wifi with your laptop, you can add that cellular connection to you laptop as well...
HI Thank you for this information very useful.
It seems as though every computer in the network would require the speedify client to take anvantage of multiple connections. Do you think there's a way to set this up on a single server/computer and have that as the router all other computers use so the speedify configuration is only required in one place? Apologies if you covered this and I've misunderstood.
I believe it is. I will write this down for a future video. Thanks Steve
I honestly would use a router capable of dual wan, link aggregation. But Yes you can most likely run speedify with 3 Nics. One nic for one provider, one for the other provider, and then the third running in bridge mode out to a router that is supporting all computers on the network.
So I have Consumer Cellular for my cell phone. We normally only use the cell phones for emergency or as I do to check on Starlink. Do you think CC would work like your T-mobile ? Not sure how I would set it up. Thanks, Randy
Absolutely. As long as you can get the connection into the computer.
Have you done a bonded peplink video?
So, are you still using purevpn? I still need port forwarding, so using pure vpn, you recommended with starlink.
PureVPN will provide a static IP for a small monthly fee.
What router are you using. Or are you just using them Wi-Fi separate.
WiFi T-mobile and Ethernet Starlink
can you do this with starlink & centurylink DSL?????????
Absolutely.
No one in these UA-cam comments has Speedify enabled because you can’t post to UA-cam (iOS app) without an error with Speedify.
I’m posting right now answering this message. Strange.
This sounds like Peplink Speed Fusion on their routers!
Facts.
More Speedify info and hardware info please 🙏
🍵👍
I did a speed test on Starlink the other afternoon and got 30 up. I couldn’t repeat it though.
A year ago February I once got 90 up. Also a one-time event.
Wow!!
can this be done with wi-fi only????????
Yep
I tried the jcristina promo but it reduced the 'savings' from $99 for 2 years of $150 for 3 years to just 20% off the $500 or w/e they say their 'normal' rate is.
I just emailed them. We’ll see what’s up.
I believe using my PC as a hotspot would be a great way to have the benefit of Speedify for my other devices. Microsoft has free software downloads to allow the PC to become a hot spot. Or may be able to enable hotspot using the Microsoft Policy Editor to enable that feature for Windows--- that is only available for the pro version.
How are you actually making "Starlink 2X Faster & Reliable"? Are you not actually making your internet connection "2X Faster & Reliable" by combing two internet services?
I'm using Starlink as a primary and then adding TM-Mobile and soon AT&T to the bond creating a strong connection. Yes, the internet as a "whole" is faster and more reliable, Rasheed.
124 mbps 18 mbps upload 36 ms Northern canada central
Can you configure to a router?
It’s possible.
🇯🇲
No too many monthly charges. Starlink bumped me up to 120.00, so I will pass on this...
68.2 Download now, 7.22 up ping 39. Getting very disappointing lately. My monthly fee just jumped another $10 to $120 p/m. I haven't had a download higher than the mid 80's in months. Still much better than what I had, but was sometimes getting over 250 download 16 months ago.
Likewise.
Too bad the graphs don't show jitter.
👍🏻🍵
starlink? Absolutely the worst service I have ever received from any company, anytime, anywhere.
😢
