- Nobody wants the dreaded copyright strike. And in this video I will show you how to avoid it and get affordable license for some of the most known tracks out there online. The problem with Lickd is that they have only like half the music of any given artist, and they usually don't have the one song i'm looking for. It's super annoying.

hi, even buying a license its not enough to clear the copyright as i got many copyright claims by using licensed tracks from Lickd .. EVEN SOME VIDEO WERE BLOCKED [you can feel that feeling after editing and uploading with that happiness and BOOM ---- COPYRIGHT CLAIM appear .. thank you LICKD

@@jonas-1901 I read under "additional information" for songs various information about copyright claims, some songs are claim free and others will be "claim-managed", meaning: ,,A third party are involved in releasing the claim for this track; the claims will be sorted within 4 hours on a weekday and within 48 hours at the weekend."

You’ll find full instructions on the Lickd website which should keep you legal using copyright music.
When I go to the website, the only option it shows to create an account is to pay the monthly subscription for the stock tracks, and then also pay per chart song. If I have no need for the stock subscription, is there really no option to just do the one time payment for charts without paying the ongoing subscription?

Question, are the licenses you pay for perpetual? As I mentioned in my prior comment, I'm not looking to just reuse the content rather I'm looking for my son to cover it. Is there ongoing royalty payments that we would expect in addition to the checkout fee?
The license from Lickd allows you to use the licensed track in one single video. It does not allow for modification so would not include making a cover version under the terms of license.

Does this site and these tips apply to not only remixing the song for video but if I wanted to do an open verse type remix over the track?

What about when your walking in Public and some bar is playing music so loud. That you pick it up while your recording say a travel video? And/or/also what if your doing a food video in a restaurant. Recording what you eat and music is played thru the restaurant? I can not tell the restaurant or bar to turn off the music. Or someone rides by on a bike or car. Playing loud music? That you do not want to hear in the first place?
You would be liable for a strike if it’s in your video. You can either license it using this method or now it’s possible to remove things like this with Enhance Speech in Premiere Pro.

Seems like you are the one that Rights are being wronged. You can not control someone else playing it. And if it gets into your video. Than it almost like Tresspassing or something. On you. @@MikeRussell I was filming some Cops helping a homeless man that just fell over in front of a bar. The Bar was play super loud music. I have to remove all the sound to show this clip. Which seems unfair to me. How do your Report News than. Which is protected under the Constitution. Freedom of Press. I get it if you are trying to make money off someone else work. But out in public it not the case. I wonder how big News Network do it? I never paid attention to it before. Sigh*

In the UK if you want to publish a music podcast you'd need to agree terms with PPL and PRS.

What if the song is not in the list? Can i still use it? Mainly non english songs
If the song is not in the list, it's best to reach out to the copyright holder directly for permission, especially for non-English songs.

How much they take from your revenue?
UA-cam takes a significant portion of revenue from videos that use copyrighted songs but with this service it’s just a one time payment.
QUESTIONS:
Am I able to download the soundtrack off a different website but still use the same license I purchased since I already have some videos with the same music but from a different website? Is the license only compatible with the soundtrack download provided with the purchase or does it work if I download the same song from a different place and use the license I purchased?
Also, if I use the license I purchased in a video I already posted by editing the video’s discription and putting the license in will it take away the copyright claim? My video was posted on 7/16/2022.
Lickd provide a high quality mp3 of the song you license. That is the version I would use.

It's clunky and not intuitive. @Lickd Music for UA-cam needs to peel some of those onion layers back. I think I'll be going elsewhere for music.

If you’re looking to run an internet radio station you would be better getting the correct licensing for that. This license is intended for one use in one video

Sorry Mike, but this title, "How to Use Copyrighted Songs on UA-cam Legally," is, in my opinion, deceptive clickbait. Long time viewer. Disappointed by your tactics here. Your solution? Pay for them, which is neither novel nor delivering on the premise of the title. The reason I watched the video was I hoped you'd had news that UA-cam had finally made a deal similar to that of Instagram (which allows on-site use of very A-list music in Stories and Reels), but alas, it was simply bait and switch to your sponsor's product. By the way, I went into their catalog (not that they make it easy without an account). While there are some A-list artists in there, most are not the hit makers promised. Again, sorry to be a critic, but this tactic really falls short in my opinion. Your past Adobe Audition tutorials had earned my trust. Not that it matters to you or anyone in the comments, but that trust just went poof.

The title promises something that is a novel and unique solution and strongly hints to the point of deception that the value in the video will be free of copyright strikes or charge. It is nothing more than an advertisement for a paid service. Just imagine if you were honest in the sense of full disclosure and added to the end of the title, "...by paying money for them" how little interest or impact there would be. But that would be what the video contains. Deception by omission is still deception.

It uses algorhythms to detect copyright material and will then be flagged unless there's evidence it's being used legally.

@@jamesmaxwell4255Not true. If the music you use isn't recognised by UA-cam's content id check or in their database, it won't be flagged. And if it's auto-flagged as copyright material, your ad revenue is going to go to the copyright holders. In this case, I guess Mike simply just doesn't mind having his ad revenue go to the copyright holder. After all, this is more or less a promotional video anyway.
@@FinalStigma The claim for this track is actually released! Although UA-cam identified the track in his video and added it to the description this doesn't always mean there's a claim. It doesn't show up 100% of the time that there IS a claim, and it doesn't go away 100% of the time when a claim is released. Mike is getting 100% of his ad revenue for this video though!

If there is the possibility to subscribe for a regular paying monthly rate to get certain quantity of track licenses this could be reasonable otherwise paying 6 pounds or 7 euro minimum for each song license it is just non sense
We'd love to move to that model too, however it's a matter of convincing the music industry and at the moment they trust the system of paying for tracks individually as it's what they are used to. The more we can grow and expand, and creators help us prove that the demand is there, the more we'll be able to improve our conversations with them!

For sure, we're adding music from other markets as we go. It all depends on the labels and publishers we can make the deals with which has been easer in the UK and the US, but we will be continuing to go after new labels and publishers from other countries.
Weird issue. I have a UA-cam channel and i’ve been using an original song of mine as background music.
My wife noticed a “use this sound” option when watching on her phone.
So essentially, I need to copyright the song somewhere like Tunecore. However, I am terrified of then getting a copyright strike on my channel for using my own later copyrighted music.

At the moment Lickd offer 320kbps mp3 format although that may change in the future.
