- I used Lickd (lickd.co) to try to legally license my first copyrighted music on UA-cam. Unfortunately, despite following instructions, I still ended up receiving an automated copyright claim.
On the plus side, the support team cleared the claim quickly and the process, from start to end, was quite efficient.

This is really good information for people that didn't know how they can add copyright music to their videos.

Lick’d is such a pain, I can’t tell you how many times I received a copy claim after purchasing one of their tracks even after including the music license and all that in the description. The key is, never post a UA-cam video with a lick’d purchased song on the weekend or the Holiday because there won’t be lick’d staff to help you and you will miss out on lots of monetization because of this! 🤬
Yes agree, they even say don't dispute with youtube, money gets paid direct to music companies, especially our livestream. Shady. We own 11 songs all hit.
So which one do you prefer using today? Epidemic Sound? Artlist? Motion Array? Or anything else?

If you're planning on using this for streaming just know that even with the Monthly subscription you can't play songs from singers like Just Bieber, Bring Me the Horizon, Drake etc. Because celebrities have their songs labeled as premium. So no playing mainstream music to jam to while livestreaming and gaming. All the subscription does is give access to mid background audios and discounts the cost of premium tracks. If you're a Streamer then lickd ain't it unless you like the tracks they have that aren't *cough* premium. You have to spend additional money per premium track which they don't make clear on their website and make it hard to find.
What do you mean by "mid background music" I just want some Bieber ghosts playing in my drone youtube video.
@Lithium023 I'm saying it's not good because you can't use the premium music (like Justin Bieber, BMTH, Drake) for background music while doing a livestream on Twitch or UA-cam, it offers you non-premium music for it which is mid imo and you can get a cheaper subscription somewhere else that offer basically the same sounding music. It's good if you want to use premium music on your UA-cam videos but the subscription is redundant if you're not full time content creator. I think it's like 32 dollars for 1 premium song per video. Or you get the subscription and pay 8 dollars per video. So if you're planning on just adding music to your drone and not livestreaming then go for it.
are you allowed to reupload the full song? Or they only allow you to use the music in another video? I mean lets say if I have a lyrics channel. can I upload lyrics videos of famous songs?

I was pretty disappointed with their music selection. they don't seem to have a lot of older tracks I would want to use, even if they have the bands I want, it's just their newer stuff. helpful video either way though
I'm totally new to this topic, and I have two questions. Can I use one song for my long video and the same song for my short based on this video? Or do I have to buy twice the same song? Second question, can I use this song for entire lengths for my video and replicate the song? I will be very grateful for an answer. Thank you.

Hello Daniel thank you for the well-done video about 'Lickd' :) Unless I missed it, could you please explain where/how a 'Lickd' license number should be displayed in any video? They do not explain that very well .... Customarily, credits are listed at the end of a Film/Video/Documentary. Should I simply list the license numbers for the songs I purchased from Licked at the end? Or should I post the numbers (in the form of titles and corresponding license numbers) in the introduction? When you buy a license, they give you a little string of text to copy and paste into your UA-cam video description. It contains a link to your unique license. Unfortunately, it doesn't (in my experience) prevent automated content ID matches but they resolve those fairly quickly. It doesn't matter where you put the license in your description... I usually do so at the end of the description. And just to be clear we're talking about adding the license link into the UA-cam video description .... you don't need to add it to the actual on screen credits in your video.
@@DanielSRosehill - Thanks for the FAST reply Daniel (you're a gentleman)! BTW I just noticed that procedure with another U Tuber who loves using Lickd. She also listed the data/text/links in her You Tube description. In summation, (as you pointed out); you don't necessarily have to list the Licenses in your usual Movie/Film credits, (as long as they are listed in the actual You Tube description). Yes? Close Enuf? That's pretty much correct. The license just needs to be machine readable so putting them in the description has to be done (you could duplicate them in the on screen credits although I'm not sure what the point would be)

Will your former past copyrighted videos be lifted and can you apply it to those or have to delete them and reupload ?
As I experienced the process the other day Lickd team resolved the copyright strike that UA-cam's AI issues. I didn't have to reupload the test video.
