1970 Oldsmobile 442 2-Door Hardtop for sale. This 1970 Oldsmobile 442 has been restored to a very high quality “driver” level and has participated in one of the Hot Rod Power Tours, which certainly speaks to its dependability on long road trips. Many records and receipts are available to see where parts were sourced and what has been done during the restoration that was done in the late 1990s. The car has been judged at Oldsmobile meets and judging score sheets are included.
The rebuilt 442 fires up easily and runs smoothly, burns clean, and has excellent power with very good oil pressure. Records indicate it has an Isky 270 camshaft and notes state .030 overbore with new pistons. The braking and suspension provide outstanding handling. The heavy-duty “turbo mufflers” provide an excellent exhaust tone. The 4-speed manual transmission shifts through all of the gears up and down with an excellent clutch. The engine compartment is clean and looks very good after several years since the restoration. This is an incredibly nice driving car and very reliable with no known needs.
The Interior is outstanding having been restored using the correct materials from well-known suppliers. The dash, headliner, seating, rugs, panels, and cards look nearly new. The original factory gauges work as do the aftermarket gauges below the dash. In addition, the window fitment is excellent and easily moves up and down. This is a very comfortable example even for the longest drives. The trunk is nicely restored as well.
The paint is glassy and highly reflective all around with excellent body gaps, beautiful trim, lenses, glass, and rubber. The doors open and close easily. It has an older set of Radial T/A’s all around on correct Olds rally wheels. All trim rings, caps, and wheel hardware are very good and the chassis is clean and tidy as well. Overall it is a very attractive car.
This beautiful factory 442 was built in Fremont, California, and purchased new by its previous owner in Northern California who repainted the exterior before selling it to its current owner who beautifully completed its restoration back to OEM standards in the late 1990s including the addition of a proper W-30 package including the 30 Ram Air hood with a fiberglass top and steel base and red fiberglass inner fender aprons and more. During its current 27 years of responsible ownership, it has been beautifully maintained and cared for and still looks like a much more recent restoration. It currently shows 66,462 though we are not sure if these are original.

If you are going to use a magnet to show metal and not body filler, at least use a piece of tissue paper in between magnet and body.

The front bumper on a Cutlass or Skylark of this era is the hardest to find and keep straight.

Cos everybody wrecks em on the front, passenger side. Finding replacement headlight surrounds or parking light lenses can be a chore.
Rear bumper, too,on 4-4-2 models. I got bumped at a drive-thru (I know, right?) and was left with two small dings in the bumper. I got the same story from every shop…can’t get a replacement. Finally,I took it to a GM dealership and I don’t know how he did it or who he called (pre-internet) but, after a couple of days, the shop guy told me that he had called Detroit (or Flynt) and could get one delivered in three days. Bumper cost $444 plus labor in early 1990’s.

Beautiful car. Love the video. Till you started hitting the paint with the magnet. Look close at 7:06 top of magnet when pulled away. Scratch. Never seen anyone do this to a car before. Whats the point? To see if the body has bondo repair?

The only fault I found on that car is the tail pipe tips, the rest was very nice, I have a 1972 W-30 I bought brand new in 72, just finishing a 5 year frame off restoration, mine is flame orange, with white interior. Was wondering if the original F heads are still in place? Very nice car in any case, and no clown wheels! 👍👍👍👍👍

Not a real W-30 - all W-30's were built in Lansing. This car was built in Fremont.
Also, those fake W-30 badges are mounted too low
