I've done it time and time again, still haven't learned my lesson. I absolutely suggest getting into the habit early though, cars have your eyes in their sights and will do everything to ruin them

Excellent ! Well done Ethan. When I did my catback on Mia the mx5 I drove around for 2 days without it. A bit antisocial I admit but it sounded amazing 😁. Ethan my main man, you soon won't need the other muppets to work on your car... Only kidding credit where credit's due guys. Love this series. The only way to learn is by doing it and it's never too late. Mia was my mid life crisis car at 54. We've followed the same learning curve, now 3 years later I've done brakes, fuel filter, exhaust, setting timing advance, throttle body clean, plugs, solved electrical issues (pop ups no longer popping up due to dry solder joints on the relay), PAS and alternator belts, ... up till then I never dared touch my cars! The only thing I really have to do - and I'm stalling 'cos I'm bloody terrified of f*****g it up - is changing the timing belt! 2021 challenge! Looking forward to the next video on this car! You should have bought an mx5 though... PS It'd be nice if you reacted to comments from time to time. Do you read them guys?
Big thumbs up for Ethan for doing the work, and it's true that working on a car isn't as difficult as people think, but only if you have friends who know what to do and guide you every step of the way. If you don't have an Alex, Gareth and Jack to help, be prepared to pay a mechanic for the mistakes you make trying to fix stuff yourself. At least at the beginning before you learn. Keep up the good work guys 👍🏼
Just did the oil and air filter change on my car. You can totally do it yourself. Even after buying everything you need you still save so much money. It's worth doing and very satisfying once it's done.
Do run straight pipes all the way back afterwards though, otherwise it'll just sound like a massive exhaust leak under the car and you'll hate driving it
The UK is really very relaxed on mods. I voted to stay in the EU but one thing I dislike about the EU is that its countries seem very strict on car modifications! Ed China made a sofa and a bed into fully road legal cars here!

@@ricardobarrios4159 I think in the UK its very sensible (for once!) You can do pretty much anything as long as its safe (will it hurt you or others? Will it massively hurt the environment such as leaking fuel or big clouds of smoke when you drive? If not, you are good to go!) Want to put a turbo on your Civic for example? Yes fine it just needs to pass the usual M.O.T checks (annual inspection) and we need to tell our insurance company. Thats pretty much it. I love Portugal, I’ve holidayed there as well as spent a month working there driving around the algarve. Very friendly people! Abrigado!
I live in new england. Exhaust bolts are a one time use fastener, you turn them in and thats that. The only kind of wrench that will get them out afterwards is an oxy fuel wrench.

You can tell these guys are true bros with banter like that, this has easily been the funniest series on this channel, when Gareth and Alex matched lines with each other when they said "I dunno it's your car," that was also another great moment.
The reason the nozzle is on the outside of the bottle rather than the center, is so when you pour it (with nozzle at the top) it let's air in and doesn't chug, doing it like that will result in less spillage. If its windy or your scared, use a funnel. But after some practice most times you won't need it.
Seeing Ethan give it some in 2nd gear with his new exhaust and say "This is my car" is actually heart warming

I had an e36 318is, same engine as this z3. And boy does it bring back so many happy memories.
