Actually I think the song never took off the way it should have because it was recorded and completed just prior to the Crüe (actually Nikki Sixx) announcing (somewhat unexpectedly) that the band was reuniting for a new album/tour. Some critics have suggested that it may have been due producer/song writer Desmond Childs (who while a talented writer and producer overall, but is also despised by many and almost killed Kiss as a band for good in 1979 with his 1st “so-called hit” single, he did for/with Kiss the much hated disco-esque “I was made for loving you” and was probably asking Vince the record company for way too much money for him and investment from the record company to make it a “Radio Regular. PlusxI heard Desmond is quite the pain in the ass to work with! To learn more, check out the documentary of the recording of this song in-studio (if you haven’t already) it should be available on You Tube BUT…..Overall, great song! It became one of “Our Songs” my my now ex-wife almost right away as well as a preferred “mutually preferred and repeatedly played summer vacation/campfire song with me and my “platonic very close Rock/metal loving sister-in-law Krissy (who is as big a nerd/expert on all things metal/rock music as I am to everything about aviation- from flying’s them to the history of and their ongoing development! Anyway, I recommend the song to Crüe and Non-Crue fans alike! Also check of Columbia recording artist “Dovetail Joint” and their “Almost went Nationwide” 1999 single called “Level” that should have taken off big like this song! Lastly, anyone hear Fuel’s new cover of U-2’s “Two Hearts” featuring the band’s now 3rd line up & lead singer change in 10 years? Not a bad cover or new singer either but takes a few listens to warm up to. Time for Brett, the original guitarist bass player and drummer “founder” of the band to finally reunite and produce s new Fuel “epic original hard rock album with supporting tour and do it ASAP! I gives my prayers for and condolences to the family of Fuels 2nd & best known drummer (who played onall their most popular & best known songs & music) after hearing of his passing In July 22nd from a rare, uncurable genetic disease that affected his brain in many parts of his central nervous system as far as I know, including leaving him, unable to play drums! Reminds me of what iron maiden drummer Clive burr, unfortunately went through, very sad and he was still very young! So those are my comments, and I know it reads probably like a novel - a poorly written one (probably) but those are my comments and I’m sticking to them!
