A few exercises for those who have just started playing football and it will help them to become a football player. Please take a video and post it. Thank you
For beginning ball mastery, I used three drills/sets that have helped me become better with my feet as a goalie/cdm, however they can work for anybody. 1: Footwork Exercise Session: The purpose of this drill is to help your feet get used to foot movements, as well as help you build up the foundations for different skills. Some of these exercises are inside taps, outside taps, Stepovers, ball rolls, Cruyff turns, v-drag backs, etc. You can easily use a ten minute preset on UA-cam if you need to. 2: Cone Weaves: Even though this drill is boring, it helps in learning close control and proper use of space. Generally, set up 8+ cones in one line, run at it with the ball, and then use one foot or two to navigate the ball through the cones in a zig-zag motion. 3: 1v1’s: The most fun drill out of these three in my opinion, you find a friend or two, and you try to use your dribbling skills to get past one friend, and then score a goal on a big or small goal. Then, you guys take turns playing as the attacker. Now, if you don’t have any friends to do it, you can free style certain moves forward and then scoring, but you should definitely find some friends. This will help in game situations, pitch IQ, and movement with the ball. Hope you have success in your new hobby, and the key to unlocking your potential is practice! Good luck!
I have used Coerver for over 30 plus years. Absolutely endorse the whole philosophy Michael. I also found that when you move from the individual to group work, those technique skills are really enhanced when players have to use those skills to avoid each other. The real key is allowing young players to be confident in both feet when performing the skills AND to scan before and during the touches. Great video Michael
Absolutely, as Jimmy noted in the video. You build the skill foundation first, then you introduce the pressure. Always start with the mastery of the ball alone to get the repetition, before moving into groups and then even when you start to master under pressure, it’s still important to consistently sharpen those tools individually
My daughter plays for NPL and has the privilege to be coached by jim and coevere coaching, she also watches your ball mastery videos to improve technique and control, so it's great to see the 2 of you in this video, we'll definitely be doing these drills.💪
I started my football career later in life and now I can say that I had made it to D2 level playing varsity for my college. Many of these drills helped me and at the same time you gave me the motivation to practice alone a lot more and continue working hard. Thank you 🙏
Absolutely love your videos, been doing ball mastery with my 6yr old since last year, and seen a massive improvement in footwork, control, confidence and general love of the game. I will be attending a Coerver course in a few weeks time and this video is just perfect timing❤
That’s great to hear! Fantastic to know you’re attending a course too and I’m sure you’ll absorb so much knowledge during your time. Glad the video was useful too 🤝❤️
@7mlc always great value here! Thank you! I work everything I can into my own personal training, my kids, and my teams I coach. My 5th grade team went undefeated in the season and we lost by 2 for the championship game. Fantastic season and south growth from every individual and as a team!
Hey 7mlc I'm 16 years old and I don't know where to start from I saw you make a lot of videos like first touch drills, ball mastery drills, shooting drills, finishing drills, ball control drills etc... but I don't know which one first I should master or should I master juggling first❤
Love that! Coerver we’re a huge building block for me too, over 20 years ago now. So great to see the impact they had and continue to have of the development of so many players.
hey Michael, great video. I want to start training again to get in shape and have fun while I work out. I want to be on the pitch 4 days out of the week. how would you structure a training schedule to incorporate both technical training as well as endurance/match fitness? i dont have a ton of gear but enough to do some good work. thank you
Hello my friend In some exercises you do not tell us the duration of repetitions for the exercise. Please tell us about it in the future or put it in the video.❤
Michael, I am following you from Iraq I care a lot about you and your channel, but I have two questions that I hope you can answer, please The first one is that I am 21 years old and my dream is to become a professional player. Is there still time? And the second question I have used the fitness series for 28 days and my fitness has not improved. What is the reason, please? Is it because I play matches during the series?
i play positions left back, left mid ,left atacking mid ,left defensive mid, left wing left wing back attacking full back ,left foward, left striker cm,cam, ram and finaly right wing😅
Just use your best judgement mate. You can get pumps that inflate to a specific psi but the more you play football, you can usually tell if a ball is properly inflated or not 🤜🤛
You can get size 5 footballs online mate. A quick google or Amazon search will give you plenty of options at different price points so suit your budget 👍
Help me bro. I struggle to juggle with my weak foot(left). My right foot in the ground have no balance and it struggles to hold my weight. and I can’t bend my left knee to kick the ball. What should I do?
The solution is just to practice mate. Start by dropping it from your hands, kicking it up a catching. Progress to kicking the ball up, letting it bounce and then kicking it up again. Eventually you’ll start to get comfortable and then you might be able to get a couple of juggles before bouncing and over time it’ll feel natural to juggle the ball multiple times.
I like how he explains everything thoroughly so that the player knows how the drills help them
Top class coaching from Jimmy 🙌
