I'm from South Africa my son is 12 he is in an academy and for the last year on the days he does not go to the academy I train him and I use your drills from all your videos I just want to thank u for what you are doing he's game has changed completely he is now one of the best players on his team thanks for all your content and when he is 17 I'm sure u will be seeing him on the big stage of soccer

I actually have to thank you so much! Because of watching these videos, my sedentary lifestyle (more depressing since covid) I have lost motivation to go gym or any exercise. Since finding you, I've bought the speed ladder, cones, pass through thingies and now I have outdoor training sessions (exact same that you do) 4 days a week and have lost so much weight! Keep doing you man, you're an inspiration.

Michael, I learnt THIS ONE from my own coach when I was thirteen. Then I was totally left footed but also pretty good and felt no need to practice my right foot. Only my coach saw potential in me to be more effective. At a training session, he got some white ‘Line Paint’ in a pot and painted my left boot (they weren’t new) and said “If I see ANY white paint on the ball after this training session then you’ll sit the next match out.”
I focused so strong in the game NOT to use my left foot and although I made some errors etc using just my right foot, I was happy that I hadn’t used my left.
But when I came off the pitch at the end of the game, he was holding the ball and it had white paint on it. I froze as he said “What’s THIS?”.
But the coach knew I had really tried so he quickly told me he had rubbed the ball on one of the lines on the pitch.
I never forgot that coach because he opened up a whole world for me to explore and become twice the player I was.

As usual, a great video. It’s obvious you love being with a ball. This video reminds me of something when I was coaching some youngsters a while back...I came up with a routine where each youngster had a ball at their feet and the challenge was that by using both feet they had to ‘write’ their own name in capital letters one letter each foot at a time. Obviously some would finish earlier than others and we would have fun when I started calling them by one letter names etc.
Next, I challenged them all to ‘write’ the alphabet from A to Z AND to call out each ‘letter’ as they performed it. It was hilarious with an absolute crescendo of different letters being called at the same time.
BUT, by having a good time they didn’t worry about making a mistake AND they used both feet to move the ball.
The confidence they gained made the routine a permanent part of my technique coaching. 👍
