I totally admire that you are willing to criticise your shadow/ fence Moment to your subscribers.
It helps us to look hard at our own efforts.
I couldn‘t see anything wrong with the shadows, by the way!

    Hi Chris!
In particular, the shadows cast by the fence is masterly.
I am going for this one next!
There is a certain affinity with my Norfolk coast and seascapes.
    Brilliant work!
    Rich. 😊

Wanted to thank you so much for your tutorial. There are several other watercolor tutorials that are good, But none of them have taught a novice like me to understand tonal values like yours. I really appreciate! Will be learning more from you. Very excited!

I recently discovered your channel and feel like I’ve learned so much. The sky in this painting is so interesting, and your suggestions to incorporate all the colors from the rest of the painting made such a difference. I also like your suggestion to use cad lemon yellow for the sun light on the sand, then add a little to the sky. Amazing what a difference it makes. I started doing the faces, now moved right into the sea scapes. I re-watch the same videos over and over, not wanting to miss a single thing. Thank you for these tutorials. I’ve been painting for many years, never too old to learn new tricks and make my work better.

Thank you so much for your tutorials, these are so helpful for me.! My compliments from the Netherlands were the Heather fields are purple now. I would like to paint them. In oil and Acryl is not a problem for me, but what is it hard in watercolor! I have often tried it, but unfortunately, I can't fix it grrrrr. Maybe an idea for a future video and tutorial? I would appreciate that very much, you are a very good teacher maybe you can explain were for the Heater fields so difficult for me to paint in watercolor. Have a nice day and thanks again.

Hi Hennie, your very welcome! I'm glad learning from my UA-cam channel is fun for you! I can understand that painting in oil and acrylic is much different than watercolors. If you are able to send pics to me of the heather fields by your home maybe I can create a tutorial. My email is chrispetri@att.net. Thanks for watching and Happy Painting!

@@cpetri766 Good morning Chris, Thank you very much for responding to my request. I am very happy with your answer to try to process our purple pagan fields in a tutorial. I have sent you my photos, made by myself, and hope that they provide sufficient information for a Dutch heathland study. Once again Thank you very much and I look forward to the possible result. Kind regards, Hennie Teunissen.

I was told to work from light to dark and yet I noticed that you worked from dark to light on this painting. Is any rule/suggestion about when to do this? Thanks so much for your wonderful tutorials.

I'm new to watercolor, so I need lots of practice. a question: you mention a 'needlepoint" brush in this video, but i haven't been able to find it for sale anywhere? does it have another name? or who is the vendor for it. again - keep up the great work.
