- In this video, I use a color that I have been wanting to try for so long now - Melange Paints Talley Green! This was a commission flip and my client was right on board when I suggested we keep some of the bare wood! 😍 I am so pleased with the results of this dresser and I was so so happy I was able to keep some of the wood tones! Well Lauren, you really outdid yourself on this one! Not only have you managed to convince me to try Melange paint (after hearing you rave about it so many times) but you really surprised me with that base. I didn't expect to like it when you sanded it to the bare wood but the wood butter really brought out the beauty of the wood grain. I love everything about this piece!

I too, have been watching your journey and your confidence has really grown! Excited about your new space and move to the country!! Ive been painting furniture off and on for years but I'd love some suggestions on 2 diff mid century dressers/ chests I have handed down from mine and my husband's parents. I love this piece. Surprised a bit as I don’t usually care for green. I think I would have preferred the skirt/legs the same color as drawers. Just me. Great work as usual.

I thought so too about the skirts/legs but then I noticed that it tied in with the gold hardware, at least it shows that way on camera.
I would have definitely preferred it with the same color base and drawer trim.

Me too. But I think I would have just lightly sanded it and just stained it to freshen it up and sealed it. I love the original wood color and it looked pretty good.

This came out so beautiful!! Though I do kind of think it would have been stunning redone without paint and using that awesome walrus oil! But I'm sure your customer was thrilled with the beautiful work and that stunning green color!! I LOVE how the legs look with the contrast of the drawer wood! So lovely!

For what it’s worth, from a makeup artist’s experience (and I use plenty of brushes from craft stores-they make the best fine liner brushes haha), brushes that are high quality/made well do not shed/do not shed easily. It might be a cool affordable option to the more expensive tools for the novice furniture flipper, but long term it might be more cost effective (and environmentally friendly) to invest in more expensive brushes for the long term that don’t shed. 💙

Wow, this is right up there with my most fave items. So far the really bright green with gold accents is my all time fave and I am planning on trying my hand at paintinga few older pieces I have in my basement. I’m in Canada so I’m glad to hear there is someone here who is se awesome products :)
