Cate Blanchett's Oscar winning turn as the best ever, Katharine Hepburn.
when someone can play kate hepburn and bob dylan, and no matter how hard you try you cant distinguish the personality behind either characters.. you know your watching an actress who will be known for nothing less than greatness.
Fantastic performance! Katharine Hepburn is my favorite actress and I am also a Cate Blanchett fan. The speech and mannerisms are down pat. She definitely deserved the Oscar. :)

I like how the trained Transatlantic accent drops by the end of the scene.
wow... I stumbled upon this and I am shocked into silence. Cate is my favorite actress now adays and I hold reverent respect for Ms. Hepburn. This role is stunning... pure and amazing. (she even kinda looks like her) :) Bravo and I cannot WAIT to see the whole thing!!
I think that Cate shows exactly what kind of person Katherine Hapburn was,there was something strange about her,she always seemed distant,perhaps even emotionless,hard to read.

One of my favorite scenes from The Aviator. Cate Blanchett deserved her Oscar alright. Like Katharine Hepburn, she stole the show and her witty observations about Howard Hughes are spot on. To quote Kate Bosworth's Ava Gardner "It's no wonder Katharine Hepburn left your pathetic ass!"
DICAPRIO SHOULD'VE WON THE OSCAR FOR THIS MOVIE. HIS BEST JOB EVER.

i think this especially by making this scene, there is a war between martin scorses and L'Dcaprio and both have won.............
Katharine's voice was a little higher and more nasal, I believe. But I LIKE THIS MOVIE SO MUCH

This is one of those performances where it's hard to tell if it's the actor I don't like or a great performance of an unlikable character, but I'm giving Cate the benefit of the doubt here
Jason Biggs she was just literally playing a real person and Kate was really like that-- a straight up bitch who hid her emotions to herself
This is the biggest lie of her life EVER. He left her, and it was by just not showing up to help her out of a hurricane. Like HELLO !!

Maybe she wanted to see to some extent. Like what he would say. His reaction is clear that they were never a couple. Because a couple are the same. That fact that Howard had a healthy inheritance isn't indicative of his actions. If Howard thought he was so special than why was it that the people in his life simply left him.

I thought she looked like Rachel McAdams in the thumbnail oddly enough, even though she does look like Katharine in this movie.
To be honest, the movie would have been better as a Kate biopic. She was infinitely more fascinating than Hughes and his Obsessive compulsive disorder.

This is a bad scene to use to showcase her incredible work in this role. I feel like this scene focused more on Leo's acting than hers. That's just me though.
