Bro - Seriously - there are soooo many insufferable parents that talk WAYY too long about their own life and leave you with ZERO facts about what you should do for your own babies. Thank you for getting to THE POINT and providing us new parents with some VALUE.
I think it's really beautiful that a Dad is educating us about baby essentials. It just shows how much he is involved/interested about his child. I pray that there will be more and more fathers like him💗
Hi, I am due in August and have been so overwhelmed by the sheer amount of things babies can/should/need to have. THIS video has eased this anxiety in me and both mom and dad approve! We have added one of each of your recommendations to our baby registry, thank you!
I started off with the Evenflo Pivot and I very strongly do NOT recommend it and advise anyone asking about it to get anything else. It was very very rickety, it worked moderately ok as a travel system, but the infant seat was HUGE and took up so much room in the car, the seat in front of it had to be pushed so far forward to fit it that the passenger could barely fit! And then when it came time to put my son in the regular stroller seat he would cry and cry and cry. We watched him in there and the whole thing wobbled and swayed and looked so scary and unsafe to ride in! We ended up selling it and getting a 6 year old UPPAbaby vista for less than the Evenflo originally cost, and even though it was so old it was SO INFINITELY MUCH BETTER than the Evenflo.
Also the safety ratings of their infant seats are not great. I read safety and crash ratings first before narrowing down on a car seat. Just because it is super expensive doesn’t mean safe. The Chicco and Graco rated better than a Nuna.
By far the most helpful "must have" video I've found so far. The mum videos have shocked me and filled me with so much anxiety, one lady had 3 bed/cibs and 4 strollers, all listed as must haves. And all the most expensive options in all the categories. Thank you so so so much for actually making me feel calmer and making me feel that my baby will be okay. As a first time mom you've done so much for me in this short video❤️ thank you.
Please do not get car seats second hand unless you trust the person with your childs life. The straps shouldn't have been washed, the bucket seat shouldnt be put on top of a grocery cart, and the seat could have never been in an accident.
Dez Biggs also car seats have an expiration date of about 6 years on average. Plastic gets weaker as it gets old and no longer will be able to provide the protection for your baby if ever in an accident. Buying gently used second hand is okay, key word gently used and not old. Spread the word!
I agree with not getting 2nd hand things like a car seat that is to protect your childs life. U don't know how gently used it was from a complete stranger jst trying to get rid of stuff. They r so many cheap prices at the end of the day at walmart.
Thank you for your videos, early on you were a favorite of my husband. We are expecting our first baby this December and he will be spending at least his first 3 months staying in to stay safe in a Covid world. That being said, we've decided he will stay at home with a parent for most shopping. We'd like a stroller that can go to city parks, shopping, and around the neighborhood. Weather-wise in NC we only get 1 snow a yr and it's only a few days with .5-2inches (nothing to take into account for a stroller). We also think we will be fans of a baby carrier vs. stroller when both out with him. All of these things have us looking for something that is multi-terrain friendly, easy to fold and unfold (it will live in the trunk of a pilot), easy to clean and can be functional from birth and reverse facing is a must. We are looking to have babies 1 and 2 within 2yrs of themselves. Since in 2yrs we will have more formed opinions and possibly looking at double options, we are looking used (also, i'm a bit of a hippy-dippy when it comes to not over-consuming). At the top of my spreadsheet are the following: Uppababy Cruz (15-17 models), Bugaboo Cameleon (14-17 models), Ergobaby 180 - do you see a clear winner in those options? -We've not landed on a car seat other than knowing it must be one of the top 3 safety picks, all of these seem to work with one of the top 3 safest car seats.
Really appreciate all you do for the parenting community. My wife and I just had our first son and we took alot of your advice into consideration when purchasing items to make our new lifestyle easier.
I've been using Evenflo Pivot Xpand for my twins (with 2 full-size seats instead of 1 + infant car seat) for more than a year now and i still feel like it's one of the best purchase i did in term of baby products. Is it light? no. Is it small? no. But it works for me cause I'd rather use a double stroller instead of 2 separate strollers. The cabin space underneath is huge! I don't need to use shopping cart when i go grocery shopping. Uppababy Vista or Baby Jogger or Phil & Ted might be better, in term of the the build quality. But they're also very pricey. I also find that this stroller is more convenient compare to most of them because everything is build-in, and there's no extra adapter or whatsoever. I can see myself using it for the next 2-3 years.
the best review on the subject on UA-cam I have ever watched. Very much to-the -point review of must-have things in budget-friendlyt price range. Will share!
I looooove the budget videos! More more lol It’s even more informative when u say “this is the expensive option, here is the dupe” very helpful to choose what to splurge on and what to be budget smart on. Yes! Another video on smaller gadget like.......idk cool baby gadgets haha
Just found your channel and I love it! I'm due March with my third baby, but my second eldest is 10 years old. We got rid of all of our baby gear and I'm completely out of the loop regarding what's available. Your videos have been very helpful.
Can you please do a video on pack and plays? We’re thinking of getting one that comes with diaper changer and napper then also converts to bassinet and playpen INSTEAD of getting a crib (due to our small place). But still debating
Lots of pack and plays ( if not all of them) and portable cribs say they shouldn't be used permanently. Only for travels/relatives houses, temporary use.
Awesome video, straight tot the point without so much talking specially in the start of the video, good content, clean set up, yet informative and helpful of baby products!
Recently, on a trip with the toddler, we brought an old cell phone to act as the noise machine and nightlight. We needed to pack light and this worked surprisingly well.

Wasn’t really expecting to like this video ...BUT OMG I loved it so informative! I’m a first time mommy to be. I actually had no idea the mattress need to be firm that’s really good insight
A good budget crib is the IKEA Sniglar. Good quality, minimalist look--looks great in any nursery--it's wood and is less than $100. Allows you to budget for a better mattress.
Love the video!!!! The only thing is that most doctors do NOT recommend buying items like strollers, car seats, and cribs used because of any factory recalls or missing parts that could impact the overall safety. It’s annoying because baby stuff is so expensive. Then you get shamed if something were to happen to your baby because you bought used.
Mamas and papas armadillo,! Lasts forever and with attachment compatible with maxicosi or cybex. I have used it for three kids and it is beaten up but I still love it! Try it!
I had to buy my graco car seat and graco stroller separate, I wanted the car seat with 1 botton Handel. And it did not come as a travel system (it did but at a price of almost 400$!) and the graco modes bassanet stroller. Bought them separate and spent a little more then 200. Not that bad!
Thanks for the info I love to see we videos on a double stroller set up for two kids. We have a two year old on Xmas Eve and our second due in June. Thanks again love the channel
New Dad and new subscriber here. Bought the Evenflo Pivot Modular Travel System due to your recommendation in this video. I love it so far. It does come with an updated Safemax Infant Car Seat which I love so far. Hard to beat below $400.
I have the safety 1st stroller and car seat. And it’s the lightest smoothest stroller I have yet to push around. Super light and so smooth that your baby doesn’t feel any bumps. I push one handed up hill honestly even like two fingers! I love it and now my sister wants one since it was so affordable☺️ the car seat is okay. Seems cheap and the handle is a little flimsy, but I’m in love with the smoothness and ease of the stroller.
I love sound machines and just got the travel owl from Walmart, can't remember the brand, but he likes it/price was right/covers us eating ice cream in bed.
Compared to the Graco Modes travels system where you can convert the seat to a bassinet mode for infants, the Zelia only reclines to an almost flat but not completely flat recline. However, the Zelia feels better built. I am not able to decide if the cost difference is worth it for the quality. What would you get between these two?
Thank you for bringing the dad side of parenting such great advice for a first time father such as myself. Seen a lot videos but very rarely do they mention the dad side of things so thank you! Keep making these videos!
Personally I wouldn’t recommend the graco extend 2 fit. Baby head was very close to the chest no matter what position we put it. I would recommend Chico or something with side and head support
Hey Dad Verb, can you help me find what video you mentioned a good baby car mirror? We got a cheap one that we do NOT like and I can’t for the life of me find what video you mentioned a much better looking one! Let me know if this was something you covered please! Thanks.
I just have to say.. bro, you are rad! lol my husband and I watch you religiously just because we love your easygoing friendly style! Also your reviews are on point! Oh and might I add, you are the only “parenting” youtuber that my husband is subscribed to lol anyways, so many blessings to your beautiful family!
be very careful with carseats and cribs secondhand. Safety standards change. Cribs may have slats too far apart, or with parts no longer allowed (like drop sides). Carseats have expiration dates, so watch for that, or could have already been in an accident
Hi! I haven't seen you mention the "baby jogger" line of strollers at all (from what I remember). Do you have a video about travel systems vs just a pram bassinet and regular car seat? Hi, I’m new here! Which lightweight stroller would you recommend for a 6 month old? I have a Nuna but it’s so heavy for me and it’s not easy to travel with.
Sarah I got two handmade “dock a tots” off Etsy for less than the price of one. If you want a dock a tot I recommend looking there (plus my kids were older too I wouldn’t put a newborn in a dock a tot)

Could you offer any advice on the infant mode for the Evenflo pivot expand?
hello I have a question which is stroller is better the maxi cosi Zella or the Evenflo pivot I am between those two which would be better?
Have you tried the nuna pipa on the mockingbird? I've seen bad reviews on the combination but wanted to see if you've tried it out. Great content btw!
Dock a tots are overpriced pillows that aren’t safe for sleep.
Sarah Agreed
Sarah I got two handmade “dock a tots” off Etsy for less than the price of one. If you want a dock a tot I recommend looking there (plus my kids were older too I wouldn’t put a newborn in a dock a tot)

When it comes to the mockingbird stroller the car seat comes separate right ?
Yes, that's correct.
