    I’m guilty of the rookie move when it comes to dunking my wedges in peroxide salt and vinegar to get a supreme rust job on my wedges !!! 🤣🤣🤣 . I must say….. that concoction works within seconds. !!!

    What should spin be if you are being fit indoors off a mat?

    Any tips for getting that penetrating flight with the wedges?

    • @Gays4Trump
      @Gays4Trump 2 роки тому

      Sure, if you have very high spin wedges that brings the flight down. Also, make sure have a forward wrist set through impact. Play ball farther back in stance. Swing on a flatter plane. Finish low and left. I use all of these. I am a plus 5 handicap but, not a teaching pro.

      @@Gays4Trump how does having high spin wedges bring the flight down? I thought high spin would make the ball rise up?

    • @Gays4Trump

      @@tylerfj24 if you want that low spinner shot that brings accuracy. High spin does make the ball elevate. I thought that was what you were looking for. You are correct. Sorry I was dead tired when I wrote that and should have explained better. Top wedge players take a shallow divot swinging 10 degrees to outside if your right handed produces a tight draw on full shots. You want a consistent spin window. I would try hitting it as low as you can and then slightly raising the flight window. Until you find the perfect one. If right handed you will see it spin back right to left as well. Zach Johnson who uses this same method has his club face slightly open to target. A couple of degrees. So don’t think your face should be hooded at address. He is swinging in to out at 10 degrees with the ball played off the inside of the right heel. I would play around with moving it farther back to build confidence. Like I said lowering that spin window. As you learn to take shallow divots and a slight draw with your wedges.

    Hey trot! Saw your videos when you build clubs for rory and dj. Do you spine/pure the shafts? What’s your opinion about the pure-ing/spining?

    • @trottiegolf
      @trottiegolf  2 роки тому +2

      We do not. There are a few PLYR's who still believe in this but we do not make it essential that you spine.

    Trottie in previous videos you have stated you run a ribbed grip, What's the different between ribbed and the alignment grips? and if you are having someone else regrip your clubs, is ribbed just something you ask for like you would the amount of wraps?

    • @trottiegolf
      @trottiegolf  2 роки тому +1

      hey PLYR. Rib (also known as a reminder) is a ridge that runs down the back of the rubber. Today it's sometimes defined as "old skool" but in recent years companies have brought out align models that have the ridge as a visual on the outside of the reverse side of the grip. In theory the rib / reminder guides your fingers into position down the reverse side of the grip. A great tool if it's something you're into BUT they must go on square or for more advanced plyr's to your preference (some guys like the face slightly open, others slightly closed, you would then position the rib accordingly to what your preference is) if that's what you're in to. Me personally, I just like square.

      @@trottiegolf This is why I'm so glad I stubble upon your channel 2 weeks ago. Thank you for taking the time to reply to comments on your videos and explaining thing is in a easy and understandable way.
      Is there a reason you prefer the rib over the modern alignment grip?

    If my wedge isn’t getting very rusty is there something I should do ? I have the mg2 tiger 56 and it doesn’t look like much rust has came in and I’ve had it almost a year now. I know the rust helps so should I try and make it rust more obviously not by dunking it like you stated.

    • @trottiegolf
      @trottiegolf  2 роки тому +1

      You can leave it outside over night but I wouldn't worry about it not rusting, it's more to do with you having nothing between you and the grooves (e.g. Chrome) opposed to it having to visually rust
