    The noise heard in this video is amplified due to the wireless microphone around my neck. In a hunting situation, steps would need to be take to limit the noise. Im using a TX5 Minimalist Saddle to help keep me safe ascending the tree. Next time I will use my OHM tether locker to keep my tether in place to make it easier. Even a big guy can use this climber!!

    With what you experienced, can you imagine a modified LW Climber + One-Stick system? By ditching the LW Seat portion of the Set and attaching the straps of the foot platform to the linemen loops of a saddle (in case it drops), a person could use the Saddle in place of the LW Seat while raising the foot platform, stand to raise the tether/repel rope, sit and repeat. You spent time moving the tether up the tree anyway. and with a tether locker going forward, it will be even less of a PIA. Having a ring of steps (if desired) would give 360 shooting while hunting height (assuming it would not be stable to push off the foot platform). Regardless, if the platform somehow fell to the ground, a one-sticker is planning to repel to the ground at the end of the hunt anyway. The system would be Saddle + LW Base + Tether/Repel rope + ROS if desired. A One-Sticker could rid themselves of the hanging off the side of the tree movement while climbing.

      I can imagine using this in this very manner and shall prepare to show it like this. 👍

    Thanks for being the first to demo this stand doing a climb higher than 5 feet off the ground. Very helpful! Looks like the crossbar on the platform allows for a steeper pitch compared to the old LW.

      Yes the new design allows you to get a steeper pitch on the platform, I hunted out of the old hand climber since 2007, this past fall I was one of the first to get the crossover and its better in every way.

      Thanks! Thats why I made this video, I figured it might be good for someone to see it from a different perspective. I will be making several more videos on this stand this week.

      The stabilizer bar with the foot holds is a genius design. Super easy to climb in with hiking boots or muck boots.

    More importantly, did you get the Christmas lights down!? Haha, cool vid of the climb, you should go over setting it up on the tree start to finish on your next video. Setting the pitch and cover weird leaning trees

      Yeah I got them down. I took at that out trying to keep the video shorter. Good tips man! I will add that.

    I’ve been running a summit open shot for at least 15yrs and I love the stand light and comfortable. But being 15yrs old I’ve bout wore the thing out. I’d say the thing that appeals to me the most is the air and climb bar cause I’m getting old lol but the thing that I worry about is it on fits trees up to 18 inches

    • @MichiganGreatOutdoors
      @MichiganGreatOutdoors  2 місяці тому

      I can't say that I've tried it on an 18" tree for sure or not. First time I took it on a hunt I was in a pretty big tree. 18" tree is pretty big.

      @@MichiganGreatOutdoors yeah I’m probably going to buy 1 I’ve got to replace my stand and that sit and climb bar will make it a lot easier to climb with I think.

    My biggest complaint with it was the noise it makes on the top portion where the belt and tube meets. It squeaks a ton. You can hear it in your video too. My old lone wolf climber doesn’t do that and I think it may be to the rubber belt rubbing against the rubber insert in the tube which Id assume is for protection against wear

    • @MichiganGreatOutdoors
      @MichiganGreatOutdoors  3 місяці тому

      Yup! After I taped this and watched it I found that noise to be annoying, so I went and discovered it was coming from the square tubing.....

    Maybe a lineman’s belt would be more convenient? Instead of having to tighten the tether all the time.

    • @MichiganGreatOutdoors
      @MichiganGreatOutdoors  3 місяці тому +1

      yeah, I thought of that to but I was worried that if u did fall or something happened you would just ride it down to the bottom of the tree, at least if you fell with climbing sticks, you would catch on the stick.... Watch the end of this video.

    Good demonstration! I just got one, wondering if you think the juice is worth the squeeze?$$ Been using the LW sit & climb over ten years & love it, looking forward to using this lighter version. - Check out NY saddle hunter, tree stand safety system, I got an F4 biley(spelling??) device from them, safest system ever with the climber & saddle, if anything happens, you can lower yourself back down slowly just using the rope.

    I enjoy your videos because I weigh 260lbs. with less muscle. That being said, trust me when I say this. You should try the S.M.A.R.T. one stix method. Also my stix n stand combo. I only started a channel because I thought it might save folks. No desire to be in front of the camera. The stick, stand, n everything else came later. Oh I know you will give a no b.s. opinion. That's what I'm counting on. I hope you try it thanks.

    Do you think that you can use the silent Seat on the crossover ?

  • @jldj5000
    @jldj5000 Місяць тому +1

    What is the weight of each section? I have seen the bottom is usually most of the weight

      Im sorry I did not get a change to weight them individually but im certain the bottom weighs more.

    Is there any talk of making a larger climber?

    • @MichiganGreatOutdoors
      @MichiganGreatOutdoors  3 місяці тому +1

      I heard rumors of them doing it last summer or at least talking about it but I have no clue if its in progress or not.

    Nice stand. However, the innovation here is not worth 3x the cost of the hand climber, to me at least.

    Ok... WhyTF is the TOP of the seat done up in camo and NOT the bottom???? Hahahahahahahaha
