That’s was a great review - love what is shown and how it works. The sit down option in saddle and on seat of stand is great and knee pad being squared off w seat up is a game changer. Only problem is now I gotta get one - lol
I've been hybrid hunting the past couple seasons. This past season I used an Ingwe and added a thick cushion to the bottom of the seat for a nice pad. The rigidity of the seat is definitely the difference maker when sitting in a saddle. I've been really tempted to order a Ranger to try out.
Great video, man. Still dont know which way i want to go yet. Saddle or stand, and the ranger looks like it's the best of both worlds. Awesome, man. Thank you.
My Ranger is pre-ordered. Hopefully, it will come in the next couple of weeks. I would have liked a couple of closeups, but this is a great video for me to learn on. Thanks SO much! God bless!
Thanks man! I really am enjoying this product, Im very thankful they let me get exclusive sneak peak at it. I ordered the half pack Friday to see how it works on this as a system.
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors I wanted to thank you for the videos, and excellent reviews you give. I wanted to let you know that I just got an email from Lonewolf today saying my Ranger Hybrid will be shipped this Friday the 24th. I am so excited!!! Once again thanks for the videos.
Did you see the "Saddle Hunting Stand One Stick Combo"? It where the stick is your seat after you climb. It faces the tree or away if you want. It was in the video I referred you to before (One Stixing like a Boss). I made another crappy video lol, but you can see a little more of what it is. This will be the future of saddle hunting. I just need some help getting it out there. Can't believe how everyone is pushing me down. But I'm on a mission now. Thank you for the reply before. Take a look and let me know what you think. Be cool If Lonewolf ran with it!
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors No I don't have a website. Yes (One Stixing like a Boss) is a UA-cam video. You get a quick look at the stand in it and me getting on it in the video (1st Saddle Hunting Stand). It's awesome no joke! Hope to get it commercially made. Put it out there for the diyer's and to hopefully to get it picked up by one of the big boys. Thanks for asking!
Great video! I would love to see how you hang your bow with this set up. Most people have pack on 1 side and bow on the other. with a hybrid stand it may mess you up if you switch from sitting to saddle?
I'm a Polak wannabe, (Slovak parents), but being so- feel too big for a saddle, too much movement. I do like the saddle as a back-up/safety harness when using a climber. Great review! I know some big guys are successful with a saddle, I'm not one of them, keep getting busted with movement.
Ive had some good encounters in my saddle, I missed a nice 9 pt last season and he never knew I was there, he actually came in from behind me.... I was also pretty high up though, like 25 feet.
Great video. Thanks. Genuinely curious how shots are to the front with the tree behind you. Does your elbow hit the tree when you’re at full draw? I had an issue last year with a shorter platform being so close to the tree that my draw elbow would bump the tree when at full draw since the platform was not long enough to step further away from the tree.
It definitely could unless u bend at the waist a little. Figure you will need to bend at the waist anyway to shoot game, so you might have to draw bent... I guess I should test this with a real bow!!!
If you put your feet on the platform closer to the tree, do your knees get too high for the knee pad? I'm 6'4 and afraid that that post height will be too low for me to use it as a knee pad.
Well, there are quite a few differences between the 2, I think the ranger is more geared toward a true saddle hunter who wants that same saddle platform feels but with the option to sit down if needed. It also doubles as your backpack, with many people starting to not use a pack anymore this can be helpful. Its like a traditional saddle platform since it has no cables The .5 is obviously a tree stand and has the normal stand attributes. This stand is very light weight, so much in fact its lighter than the ranger by a smidge. The tree stand has cables like any other stand and is very easy to hang. Either or is a fantastic combination to add to the arsenal.
U can, but the .5 is more comfortable for sitting as that's a treestand vrs this being hybrid saddle stand. I have a much more detailed video of this platform on my channel if u look at the previous video.
I'm thinking about getting some new sticks, should I get beast sticks or some Out On A Limb Shikar sticks. For the Shikar sticks do u recommend the folding or fixed ones?
I watched your review on the Shikars seemed good in the review but how did they hold up for u in the long run? Thanks for the advice I'll try some beast sticks. Love this channel keep em coming!
They held up fine, I just got sick of manipulating the screw and flipping the steps etc, it just gets kinda annoying after a a while, when the beast sticks came out with no holes I jumped all over them and never looked back, I use those primarily when I saddle hunt.
When I'm looking for a review on equipment, your channel is the first one I seek out.
Thanks!! Im glad to hear it!
Some of the best product videos online!!! I’m not a big guy but luv that you are and you show the capabilities of all the products you review!!!
Thank you, I really appreciate that. I try and put a lot of thought and effort into these videos.
Just ordered mine. I'm a 5'11" 250 saddle hunter as well. I love your reviews. Keep up the gear reviews!!

Hey you have to review the Tree Styx when they come out. Those things look insane.
I really want too but at $190 a stick??? Dang man.... that might be too rich for my blood 😂😂
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors 😂😂 true but $625 for a 4 pack is doable
I dunno man.... time will tell lol
Keep it up homie. Good stuff.
Thanks, will do!

How does this compare to the LWCG .5 as far as using for hybrid saddle set up

Can you sit facing away from the tree with any comfort at all? I’ve got one pre-ordered but second guessing whether I should’ve just gone with the .5.
U can, but the .5 is more comfortable for sitting as that's a treestand vrs this being hybrid saddle stand.
I have a much more detailed video of this platform on my channel if u look at the previous video.
are you going to use the ranger this year or are you going to stick with teh .75?
.5 and ranger.
What saddle are you using there?
Tx5 lonestar 2.0
