    My mind boggles that there's so many t-shirts, and each is a little bit different. You'd think that a t-shirt is a t-shirt, but no! I appreciate all your hard work and excellent attention to detail with this review! Excellent job!

      Truly I don’t think there was a single one that felt like a copy of another one. Maybeeeee the ABB and LN Classic Tee. Even then though, they were a little different.
      Thank you for appreciating the work I did! It is definitely the most effort I’ve put into a video and I hope it sticks around the UA-cam algorithm as a good resource.

    Erin, great job reviewing these t-shirts! So far, my favorite is also the Love Notions Classic Tee. It's mind boggling how many t-shirts patterns are available. Thank you for the incredible amount of work you did to put this video together. I appreciated it.

      Thank you Diane! I think the Classic Tee was my favorite overall, since it has the v neck option and a good variety of sleeve lengths. I’ve been wearing that and the Core Tee the most. I can’t decide if it’s because they’re both white, or because I like the shapes the most.

    I make the Love Notion Classic Tee. Mostly because it. Comes with a full bust piece . I usually use 95% cotton% Lycra blend. It’s more structured but works well on a semi fitted t shirt. Love all your makes and really enjoyed watching.

      I’ve always seen the LN Classic highly recommended and I’m so glad I tried it out. It’s WELL WORTH $5. I definitely want to make some more in cotton blends.
      Thank you for watching in and adding your favorite to the comments! I think this comment section will be a great resource for people.

    Wow, Erin! You're a star for making all of these and sharing your in-depth experiences with them! 🌟
    My fave oversized tee is 100% the Jesse tee from True Bias. It's free with a newsletter sign up and I absolutely love the casual fit. I made it out of a cotton jersey with a bamboo neckband so it's a contrast (plus I needed more stretch). I also love the Helen's Closet Jackson tee... That one is gender neutral and comes with a few views. I sized down a bit for a closer tee, but the options are endless. I would love to try a raglan tee and also a v-neck.

      Thank you Elizabeth!
      I remember your Jesse tee! You did some great color blocking with the sleeves too I think? Thank you for adding your favorites to the list. I think this comments section is going to be a great resource for people hunting down their perfect tee.
      I REALLY like the v-neck version of the love notions classic tee that I made. It's a pretty good bargain too!

    Nice job with all these tees, yes, I listened to the very end. TNTs for me are if it’s cotton spandex I’ll make a Style Arc Susan or a Core tee if I want a looser fit. If it’s slinkier, rayon or modal, I’ll use the Copper Creek tee or Simplicity 8982. Thanks for pulling this together. ❤️

      Susan is my mom’s name, and she would love her name sake tee. I might have to download it just for her.
      Thank you for sharing your preferred patterns and the fabrics you pair them with!! That’s so useful.

    Another great video - you are very thorough, which I really like. I basically use the Pattern Emporium "Keep it simple babe" tee and it has every option I can think of. It fits me perfectly and I've made several versions - a boat neck in a black and white striped rib jersey, a scoop neck in a melange viscose jersey and a long sleeve v-neck in a french terry and I'm going to keep on making them because I love it. I thought most of your makes turned out great so I've enjoyed your tee shirt journey.

      Thank you Avril! I put a lot of effort into prepping for the video and finding all the info that I wanted to share.
      There doesn’t seem to be a type of t shirt (or turtleneck!) that you can’t make from that pattern. WOW! The v neck in French Terry sounds especially cozy.

    Wow! There was one of everything in there 😁 I love the white tee and faded jeans look!
    The Classic Tee has been on my radar for a while, and I want to pick up the Core Tee, too. I've made the Hemlock Tee from Grainline, which I think was free, a few times... it's similar to the Mandy, but the sleeves have been fine and it's got a neckband. Great video!

    • @ErinSews
      @ErinSews  3 місяці тому +1

      It’s such a classic look and so easy to throw on 🙂
      I checked out the Hemlock tee and it is, indeed, free with newsletter sign up, so I downloaded it. The Uvita from Itch to Stitch (free) was also recommended as a good boat neck pattern

    Amazing video!! I love how detailed your review of each pattern was. The Love Notions Classic Tee is a favourite of my daughter and I’ve made many of them for her. And I 100% agree with your review of the Mandy Boat Tee. The sleeves are ridiculously tight and the fit so boxy that it just looks really weird (in my opinion). My all time favourite tee is the Concord by Cashmerette. I love the many options and of course, the many cup sizes. 😊

    • @ErinSews
      @ErinSews  3 місяці тому +1

      YES! It almost felt like the side seam of the Mandy is in the wrong place? I already starting to disassemble it and try to think about how I can rework it. I just took the sleeves off for now, but I think I'm going to totally break it down because of how weirdly the bodice fits.
      A lot of people have echoed your love of the Concord, so you're in very good company 🤗

    Great video. Thanks! I have come to love the Sinclair Patterns Bondi T. It has neckline, sleeve and length options and comes in petite, regular and tall files which eliminates some alterations. Also, you can buy flared and puffed sleeve add on packs. I can’t think of a T-shirt that I couldn’t make with this pattern and the add-on packs.

    Thank you Erin for this great comparative video! It’s nice to see how they look so different on an actual body (not a photo). I’ve made thousands🤪 of the Classic Tee by Love Notions (my TNT), and I have downloaded the Closet Core free T, but haven’t sewn it yet. P.S. your hair is so pretty 😍 😍

      Thank you! It was a pretty fun video to put together. I was hoping that seeing them moving on me, and in comparison to each other on the same body would be helpful.
      I’ve been wearing the core tee the most so far. It’s really comfortable and flowy in the rayon spandex. I’ll DEFINITELY make more of that and the LN classic tee. Idk if I’ll make thousands though 😂😋
      Thank you for the PS! It always feel worth it when I make the effort to curl my hair, but it’s so much effort lol

    Great video! I always make the LN Classic Tee but I was curious about the others. You did such a thorough job. I usually use cotton spandex now but I used rayon spandex for a while. The rayon spandex did not last well. It would pill and get holes easily. It would also stretch out and grow throughout the day.

    • @ErinSews
      @ErinSews  3 місяці тому +1

      Thank you Adrienne! I REALLY like the LN classic tee and can see why you always make it. You're right about the rayon spandex not holding up well. The Old Navy tees that I've bought for years are all rayon spandex and they get holes so easily. Now that I've used up most of the cheap Hobby Lobby rayon spandex I had in my stash, I'll probably look for higher quality cotton blends in the future. Thank you for adding your insight about fabric choice!

    Hi Erin! Wow! Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with all of these patterns! It was very informative to watch as a viewer, but your personal learning from this endeavor must be thru the roof! No doubt this will have super positive impacts on lots of future sewing you do, whether actually sewing a t-shirt or another type of garment all together.
    I don’t have a favorite t-shirt pattern for myself. I’ve tried a few, some with good results and of course some that were duds. Still looking for my tnt one!

    Great video Erin! Itch to stitch has a free pattern called the Uvita that reminds me a bit of the Mandy Tee. I have it printed but haven't made it yet. So far, my favorite is the Cashmerette Concord Tee.

      @@ErinSews I also like the Uvita. The arms are not too tight and the boat neck is a nice shape. There is also an add-on package for the Uvita with a ton of options, like a hood, banded bottom, pockets, etc.

    Great review of all the different T-shirt patterns! I don’t have a favorite tshirt yet. I have made the cashmerette concord and I like it ok, but I need to adjust my size some. I also want to make the Carlyle neckline (square) on the Concord. I haven’t made the LN classic T yet. I made the LDT, but not a fan of the swing style on me. I have like 3 drawers full of RTW Tshirts that I have to wear or donate or recycle to rags.

      Thank you! I was surprised by how different all of the patterns turns out to be in terms of style and fit.
      Oooooo a square neckline would be interesting. Just changing up the neckline really brings a lot of life to a basic plain tee. That's probably why I like the v-neck I made so much.

    Great video, my fave tee pattern used to be the Classic Tee but I have since tried the Easy Tee from 5 out of 4 patterns and have made a bunch. They are all slightly different fits even if alot are cotton lycra jersey. I have graded the pattern to get the fit and altered the length. I have tried a vneck twice but mine arent as neat as yours!!

    • @ErinSews
      @ErinSews  2 місяці тому +1

      Someone else recommended the 5 out of 4 pattern I think! I’ll have to add it my list to try when all of these tees start to wear out. I want to add a v neck to the striped ABB tee I made in this video, but I’m worried that I won’t get it quite right again 😂 I think it was beginner’s luck 🍀
