Awesome car. We have the same car sitting in our garden shed, with big bore kit, new intakes, flow headers, turbo tie-rods, new street suspension, yellowbird bumpers, complete new interior with leather recaro. Reason it's sitting in the shed is a paint disaster nearly 25 years ago and no time to restore it, we hope to begin next year.

Nice setup. I have a 69' 912 as well. We put a 68' engine in and an aluminum 5 speed trans from a 71' 911. I just replaced the front pan and I'm finishing up a small rust spot. About to install a new set of control arm bearings, struts, pads/rotors, braided brake lines and wheel bearings. Hopefully by the end of winter I'll have the rear suspension taken car of as well and then can rip around in spring.

Man..i n `93 the 912 was already my dream car.. the best bits from the 356 and total compatibility with 911 upgrades.. and at the time I could have just afforded one here, if they ever came up for sale. Alas, living in SW Canada they really didn't appear very often, and when one eventually did years later, I couldn't afford it. Still my dream car though..Handles like an early 911 should have.

There was a 912E in 1976. It had a type IV engine.

The engine sounds really nice - I like the front seats - they look like they're leather, is that right? Happy driving!

May I ask, Brian, what kind of gas mileage to expect from your impressive upgrade on the engine and exhaus?

beautiful setup although light flywheel doesn't add power :)
